This is plug and play?

Are they going to fix this before they ship me mine for 2019. Cancelling if I'm going to have to do all of that.

All of that ? connect 1 wire? but no if yours hasn't shipped it will not need that . But just getting the panels off is way more complicated than that . Not being an asshole just letting you know prior because if you want to cancel and it hasn't shipped now is a great time for me to refund you instead of after we program it and ship and have to get it back. Its not magic. You do have to remove some panels to get to these plugs. But i would say its probably the easiest modification you can do to your truck

 

we have 50k dollar CNC machine in the same room . even with the best filtration system you can buy, dust is a daily struggle . unfortunately my office needs to be close by or nothing gets done .

 

I will be doing the white wire splice when I get a chance since I leave my keys inside the truck overnight in the garage. Communication with James has been awesome. Answers phone calls and emails you right back within minutes. Customer service is the best.

 

THANKS !! I will not lie this has tried my patience . Not at any customers but at the manufacturer of the part as they acted like i was nuts at first saying other people would be having the problem , hoping I would go away . But that is not me . Ask JBL if I go away.

that's really odd. is it difficult to brake now ? that's borderline dangerous imo.

 

Feels just like when you pump the brakes when the truck is shutoff. It had enough residual pressure from when I parked in the garage an hour earlier that I didn’t noticed when I first left. Second stop sign I knew there was a problem. I turned around to return home and tried an emergency stop to make sure I wasn’t crazy.

It wouldn’t stop. I limped home, scanned the computer and the abs system and got no fault codes.

Daytime running lights are also inop.

I’ve contacted James to return my system. It has been problematic from the get go. I must have got the one dud.

 

yeah. mine has been fine on the drives I took since installed last Sunday.

 

you are the only 1 out of about 10k that has had this issue so i would bet something isnt plugged in correctly. I just sent you my number feel free to call and we figure it out in a matter of minutes

 

I would probably ask to have a reprogrammed one sent to you since you seem to have a lot of problems mentioned

 

I checked all the connections and the problem was still there. I removed the starter system completely and now my brakes and DRL’s are working fine again.

I called James and after some trouble shooting on both our ends he agreed something is up and immediately issued a refund.

My starter is going back to him for a more in-depth inspection.

James customer support is beyond commendable. He stayed up until after 1am his time zone to help me out.

He’s a great guy to deal with and I sincerely believe I was just unfortunate enough to get the one unit out of 50k that was possessed by the devil.

Sounds like you must of forgot to plug in something after install. My BSM and RCTM was not working after install but I recheck my plugs and found out I forgot to plug something back up

 

I completely removed and reinstalled the system twice and disconnected and reconnected every plug one last time before I pulled it out for good.

A forgotten plug wasn’t the problem.

 

If you're referring to the pictures I posted, I'd say it depends on what you're trying to fix. I have a 2018 1794, the remote start would work, but the door wouldn't lock. The pictures I posted fixed that issue and the doors remained locked after the truck is started. Not sure if that's the problem you're having, but it worked for me. Hopefully, that helps.

 

Ah, yeah...I'm having same issue, it doesn't re-lock after starting. Thanks...I'll follow your instructions!

You didn't pay 300 dollars from us? Because we have never had them at 300 dollars . Are you referring to 12voltsolutions as where you bought it? My company is not 12 volt solutions . Because we have always charged 159 for the carlink module as well and thats right in line with everyone . it cost us more than half that price . way more . SO i am asking who you are referring to when you say I wish he would ?

 

Not trying trying to be an asshole either here. But when a product is named Plug and Play, I don't expect to have to look for an asterisk to find out that there is one wire that needs to be clipped. Mainly from a warranty perspective, but also the fact that I am color blind and wire harnesses scare the shit out of me because of that color-blindness. That is why I buy Plug and Play. I accepted that after the fact I realized there was one wire that needed to be clipped. Then the problems cropped up and another wire needed modification I would just rather not deal with it and find something that is truly plug and play. My comment was just to make sure that the "problems" that every one is having with this latest issue would not affect me since I haven't gotten mine yet. I was insuring that this issue would be corrected before new ones are shipped. James, I know you are a stand up guy from what I have read and you have a great reputation here. It went up even higher when you stepped in to this thread to help out.

I just wanted to insure that the solution would be provided before my unit is shipped. I wanted to make sure that there was a permanent and that splicing a wire was NOT the permanent fix I would have to do once I receive my unit.

understood but you do realize the TPMS wire does have to be cut in 18 and 19 . This wire these guys are adding that choose to fix theirs that way is in the harness we sent them . They are not actually cutting the truck harness . And again to be sure send me an email and we will make sure yours hasn't shipped with old software . tech12volt@gmail.com

 

YOU do realize that cutting a wire for the 18 and 19 is NOT plug and play don't you? You should put a separate page for those models or not bury that fact 4 paragraphs down. I have not received a shipping notification so I assume it has not shipped. I am miffed about having to cut for a "plug and play" and was insuring that I would not have to make further modifications. Glad it will be shipping with new programming. But I still take issue with you calling it plug and play because it is NOT.. Yes it is my fault for not reading completely and thoroughly, but it is deceptive to call it plug and play. I should not have to carefully read an ad looking for details that might contradict the main selling point for a product. I am sure that deception is not your intention, but it is deceptive.
