Quoting my own stupidity... I was hitting the button too fast. 3 slow locks and it started. 3 more and it will shutoff. The doors stay locked on mine when I turn it on. I DO have the factory alarm but WITH OUT the glass break sensor. Everything was plug and play! Thanks James!

yeah it says 3 times for locking so it should do what it is designed for imo.

Does this work if you hold the lock button down for a few seconds? You know instead of pressing it 3 times.

Installed and working correctly aside from a small issue with the app for the carlink. I'm trying to figure that out here shortly. Just ran out to grab some pizza and wings. Oh yeah, and this too....I deserve it after 108 temp or whatever it was this afternoon during the install.

Here's some pics of the module installed. I tucked it in the back and zip ties to two holes that were almost a perfect fit for the module. The carlink was installed flat right above the air bag.

Is anyone getting the horn honking after pressing the key fob 3 times? Mine is acting very inconsistent and seems like the 3 presses is very sensitive.

Can you just hold down one button instead?

It's not cooling off anytime soon, but at least my truck will be cool now.

So I just emailed james. I was able to get past the issue I had with the carlink app and put it in test mode. I tried lock, unlock, and starting the truck from the app which worked perfectly. I then stopped the truck through the app and the factory alarm started to go off. Not sure how to solve that one. Any ideas?

Edit: James said I'll need to connect the black/white wire to correct this.

Yep connect the white/black stripe wire. Your factory alarm is being set off ad it thinks the truck is timing out

I'll try this in the morning, otherwise all is good!

I’m in the the middle of install and my 2013 is DOA.

Why do the instructions refer to plug “5” when there’s no plug for it!(second pic)

Thank you! That makes sense on pic #1.

Any idea why the instructions refer to “plug 5” on the BCM in the second pic?

Plug 5 is where the black/white wire for the key sense would connect, although most will not need to do this.

Correct. You wont need this connection. Also, I believe the other question was answered regarding the other plug. That plug should connect into the remote start module.

I gave it one last try and I finally got a flashing blue light...

However, my truck will crank for about 5 seconds without starting then it shuts down. Then it tries again, over and over multiple times. I couldn’t stop it.

I tried pressing every button on the remote to stop it and I also pressed the brake pedal and cycled the key in the ignition multiple times with no luck.

    The truck seamed possessed.

I took a video because I knew no one would believe me.

That looks like the Main plug that goes into the module unit.

I attached my module to a metal frame, left of the wiring harnesses and below the air vents with 3M adhesive backed strong Velcro. There is clearance in the back for the wires and no issues when reinstalling the dash. The remaining wires were tucked up and under the dash and secured with zip ties.

Email James and let him. He is super helpful.

To me sounds like module is not taking the encryption from you key during programing.

    "
You will see a White with black stripe wire in the diagram also. This is the key sense wire and you do not need it all. make sure all connections are made with battery disconnected and before you hook the battery back up remove all connectors from the remote start unit . if you ordered 2 way remotes or the MYCAR option do not program or plug them in until you have the remote start working with the factory key fobs .

Make sure when your programming it that you get the correct color lights and be quick with programming as you can time out . If that happens start over. if you do not get the correct the lights on the 2nd try CHECK YOUR WIRING . do not try to install from video only. use video and the wiring diagram together

If you need help call me 912 288 5875

So it looks like the price is still good for $200.

I want to place my order ASAP but have a quick question about the extended range remotes.

Do the extended range remotes replace the factory key fob? Like it will lock and unlock my doors or do I have to carry both remotes.

    2013 BTW

Quick install. got mine done in 45 min and all plug and play. I don't have factory alarm.
2012 Tundra. 3 press on lock will start truck and lock doors 5 to 10 sec after. This is nice and now I look like the cool guys with new trucks ;)

Just did mine as well. Took about 35 min. Longest part was the TPMS splicing but I’m also getting the issue where it doesn’t lock after starting. Did someone get a fix for that?

Did the install on my 2018 1794. Read through the instructions and went through the video a couple of times. I got to the point where I had to connect the ground and I didn't have a long 10mm socket, so off to home depot I went. There's a joke in there somewhere.

Anyway, got everything connected, did the splice and tried it. Here's what happens.

    1. Vehicle unlocks the door (expected).
    2. Starts the truck.
    3. Does not look the truck. Now, this is not a big deal to me since I'd doing the regular key fob thing, not the long distance options.
    4. When I get in the truck and put the key in, it does not recognize the key to telescope.
    5. Turn the key to ignition, hit the pedal and remains on. Steering wheel still no telescoped. I have to shut off the truck, but the key and restart.

Anyone else have the same issue? I'll shoot an email to James, but wanted to check her first.

The only thing I didn't do during the isntall, was have the red/white, green/white wires (red) connector connected to the Fortin box when I programmed it. I left it off because I wanted to twist it up, The programming went fine, but in James instructions is says "Insert remains connectors" before you click the button ten times. Granted these just had the two wires gangling off the connecter to be spited later. Not sure if that makes a difference and may try it again later (trucks back together already).

Edit: Now that I think about it, after I did the red/blue step and release, I might have done the 10 times push before connecting any of the connectors. Can't recall. Guess I'll have to try it again.
