Probably leave Thursday or Friday. We were going to snowboard up at snowbird today but it was too sloppy. So probably ride tomorrow and Wednesday. Let me know.

I just setup an appointment with the dealership to have one installed for $1,100 including parts and installation. Seems in line with what others are paying.

If you live in a snow state I would maybe do a little research before I would buy. I wish I did. I live in Ohio and they love the road salt but after 3 weeks mine is corroded way more than I thought it would be. More than older toyotas stock exhausts are.

Is the TRD exhaust system a dual muffler, dual tail pipe system?

I am under the impression that our trucks perform better with a dual muffler and single outlet exhaust. Less back pressure with a dual exhaust? How can this be with a dual exhaust?

Resistance in the muffler is my guess.

A single out exhaust has the correct back pressure for our stock motor, when it comes to keeping low end torque. Dual exhaust without headers in most cases will cause you to lose some low end torque.

Why would Toyota put them on their Pro's if that were the case!

And for most, the loss of any low end torque probably wouldn't be noticed. That expensive dual exhaust barely adds any HP gain. I do have dual exhaust and love it. Mine was built by dirtydeeds. I do plan on headers before long though.

I can honestly say that there is a difference in the exhaust power. You can feel it. I got a chance to drive a pro that my buddy's dad just bought the other day and the difference in that compared to my stock single exhaust was noticeable. The difference in the pro and my dirty deeds exhaust is even more noticeable. It's got a good sound to it for sure. I'm a fan of my 6" system since it's a little louder, but the pro still sounds pretty good.

If you're looking for power with just the stock motor and all, the single exit is your best bet.

I think the question still stands. Toyota produces a dual exhaust system and a single exhaust system for our 5.7 engines. How can back pressure be the issue? Have not the toyota engineers figured this out? Is the 5.7 in the PRO made differently?

No, the pro is the same. Take a look at the link I posted above. There is a little more to it than back pressure. The Toyota engineers not only figured it out, they designed the truck that way.

Then why the Toyota dual exhaust?

What are you asking? Why buy it? Why do they put it on the truck? Why does Toyota manufacturer it?

I didn't go with the TRD exhaust because it doesn't come with an xpipe or resonators to get rid of drone.

Dual exhaust will not do anything spectacular for your truck unless you have headers, period. The only reasons are, looks and sound. It's not like slapping duals on an old Chevy or Ford.

If I didn't plan on headers, I would have put a straight thru flow design muffler on the stock pipes and called it a day.

What I'm trying to understand is if our trucks are designed for a single muffler and single tail pipe why is there a Toyota made dual exhaust system available. If the dual system doesn't allow the truck 5.7 engine to perform at its peak then why would they make it? On this site,it would seem that most people go with the dual muffler/ single factory tail pipe as the "correct" application. I did read the recommended site and found it to be very interesting but I don't believe that it addresses the Toyota made dual exhaust. It points to their products.

Well, I'm sure there are other opinions, but like I posted above, guys like dual exhaust. It looks cool, it does add a slight amount of power at the top of the band and it's a nice sound.

It's just like the TRD cai. It might add a little bit of power at the top end of the band, but your stock box is just as good and what the truck was designed around. You don't need a cai for the truck either, but Toyota sells them.

Its all about margins, add on sales are high $$$ items that generate high margins, margins are profit.

With that said I like the TRD exhaust on my truck, no drone and sounds good on throttle up.

Does the TRD dual exhaust work better with a supercharged engine over the factory exhaust?

I wouldn't think so, but I'm not certain. I've read with dirtydeeds full exhaust replacement, including headers, it doesn't make anymore power but it's less strain on the blower to make that power.
