I bought a back up cam that has the RCA cables thinking I would need to run them into the cab. After further investigation I found that I have a connection near my tailgate. Is there an adapter I can purchase to utilize this connector or will I need to run the RCA wire to the new head unit?

I'm sorry but I can't answer your question. What camera did you buy?

There is a connector under the truck on the left. There has been much debate as to whether it's truly pre-wired, depending on trim level. Some go only part way and have an open connector somewhere inside the cab. Some go to the overhead console for the rear view mirror monitor. I have the same camera and found it easier to use the RCA cables and go directly from the camera to the underside of the dash.
