Hi all, my name is Chris. I'm new to the forum. I have a 06 V8 Crew Cab Tundra and I'm looking to upgrade my muffler. I want a nice low rumble but not obnoxious. No drone in the cab and have it relatively quiet at highway speeds. I've been looking on the net and have narrowed it down to either a magnaflow or flowmaster. Any opinions?

    Thanks in advance.

Leave it stock, or at least save your stock muffler and pipes so it's easier to correct a mistake.

either will have some drone. In my experience on past vehicles, only changing the muffler- magnaflow seemed to drone more. It was pretty quiet outside the vehicle however unless stepping on it, but it did drone.

Flowmaster has many different mufflers so those can vary on sound and drone. Depends on what you want. There are some videos out there going over all the flowmaster mufflers, talking about drone and sound output. @dirtydeeds may be able to help you with a exhaust that will actually give better performance, sound good but not drone.

Look at the Flowmaster Special 50. I have one with dual outlets. You know it when you hit the right pedal or let up. It can be a little loud towing my boat but the boat scales in at 5000+. Drone is minimal but I do have an upgraded stereo. I dont like road noise so it is always on.

Flowmaster will rust, magnaflow is stainless, obvious choice there!

I had a Borla put on. Not very loud and a lot of drones at 1800rpm. I'm going w DD 6" and selling the Borla
