06 factory JBL radio with static on FM reception

This has been the worst audio system I've ever owned in a car. I have an 06 JBL radio that gets static which I didn't have when I owned a Tacoma. I live in the city so I know it's not distance. Also the speakers sound like they're blown. Anything that I can do to remedy this.
I want to keep the stock radio but FM reception needs to be better.
