I will do the exhaust, tint the windows, add LED in a few areas now and have some other things for the future.

maybe some pics in the wild.

Thank you all for your post and ideas that are shared on this site.

285’s rub....I tried spacers I tried adjusting the lift .....still rubs. I cannot stand rubbing. Another issue was I lost too much of my “drivability” the big tires looked awesome and performed but I needed to be able to drive the
Truck and retain some highway function.

I put 265’s on it and I am happy. It changed the look some but I still like the look. I will get some pics up soon.

Interesting about the rubbing & drivability.

I have 285s on my AC and no rubbing with 16x8 wheel - 4.5" backspacing and 0 offset. I'm not sure of the specific wheel well differences between the AC & DC cabs, but I would imagine a 17x8 with 0 offset and 4.25 - 4.5" of BS would work well with a 285/70R17. A 275/70R17 would almost certainly clear being it is roughly 1/2" shorter and 1/4"ish more narrow. Not that there is anything wrong with the 265s. I loved my last set of 265/75s

Also wondering if a more tame tire would help with road manners. Just throwing thoughts out here...

Rolling mass is more w the 285

the 265 is 15 pounds lighter than the 285

    265 is a 6 ply the 285 a 10 ply

I think I could have gotten lighter wheels as well.

My first attempt at wheel/tire setup"........ Several factors I should have considered but did not.

    wheel weight
    Offset
    Tire size/ weight
    Lift height

and there are a lot of trucks rubbing w 285’s but they don’t mind it.

it’s a great puzzle and a lot of considerations

I think the weight was hard on my driveline / brakes etc.

Thanks for sharing your build. Many of the things you’ve done or what I’ve been considering so again appreciate what you shared.

Couple questions how do you like the ride of the lift so far? I really want to do 285s 16 inch versus 17 inch did you consider that? Any other thoughts and the reason you chose the toy tech lift?

I’m also curious about the Boss coilovers.

I initially wanted to go that route, but decided against the 700lb spring rate, given that I have an AC and no front bumper / winch.

would love to hear about how you’re liking the ride quality.
