The bottom red box is what came standard/included with limited package and the top box is what was installed as an upgrade as ordered by the dealer/buyer.

Dunno. Maybe standard Limited pkg was 60/40. The captains chairs were definitely a factory install per the sheet, but they definitely didn't install cloth.

I would think that had more to do with the casting of the steel and where it was done than the assembly. What specifically grenaded on the supercharger fails?

Isn't that false because they didn't have any engine plants until around 2002?

But the jap vs American motors? No difference. Myth is all that exists. The ones that popped with the blower all had more boost than intended.

Makes sense. I have a really hard time believing that if the blueprints are the same and the materials, that Japanese men are THAT much better than Americans. Like yes I understand its a whole different ball game to those Japanese dudes, but its still a Toyota plant. They gotta be the same lol

The rod castings all still came from Japan. I think only the block and head castings were new and American Made

the rods are the weak link

Hell in the 1gr world? The Japanese engines have headgasket issues the American ones rarely have.

Big mods are coming soon, but not too soon.
    Update:

The Tundra sold before the carfax issue was fixed. Onto the next one.

I studied Japanese manufacturing techniques for 10 years. All the car makers initially had problems implementing their systems with American workers. There are many reasons for this, of course, but the primary reason is the workers...not their skills, but their attitude. Japanese workers are taught "it's never good enough" whereas American workers are like "eh, fuck it!". I'm not blaming American workers, however, it's the ~ hundred years of bad management that are to blame.

Isn't it also a culture thing? Like if they do a bad job in Japan it brings shame to their family?
