I've got a '03 Tundra SR5. The latch inside the truck feels stiff and doesn't release the hood anymore. I took the skid plate off for a better view under the truck but not sure what I should be looking for. The lever under the hood is still attached to the cable and moves but I need the hood to pop up first. Anything I can do?

    Look at this thread. https://www.tundras.com/threads/2001-tundra-grill-hood-latch-doesnt-work.118361/

Reply #6 specifically, and the replies below it, manually open the latch.

Once you get it open, figure out why it's not popping. It's one of two things, most likely. Either the rod retention clip is broken, or the latch body/assembly itself is broken.

I found this in about 10 seconds using the Search feature.

I'm having the opposite issue, the latch under the hood works but the one inside the cabin doesn't

There's a braided cable that goes from that lever, through the firewall grommet under the brake booster/MC, and over to the hood. Check it's OK (with tension, attached) at the pull lever. Verify it goes thru the grommet without issue. Trace it to the hood latch, and check for tension. HAve someone pull it while you watch the latch for movement if the prior steps showed it's fine.
