So I finally have enough money for my lift, tires and rims. I'm going with the Toytec boss lift but the question I have is I like the wide stance tires. I know a lot of guys run +18 offset with 295's with no rubbing. I was wonderino if I went with a 0 offset if I would have rubbing issues? Could I go with 35's with a 0 offset without rubbing? How bout 0 with 295's. I don't want to CMC if I don't have to and I don't trust the shops by me to do it and I definitely can't. What are your thoughts? Attach some pics and your specs if you don't mind

With 0 offset, 3 inch lift, and no body mount chop, 33 inches is the maximum diameter you are gonna able to install.

With 18 mm, you will still have to do the fender liner mod, but you won't have to chop the body mount, most likely. My tires are veeeery close to the body mount though.

let me clarify, +18 and 295s (34.3" diameter) clear the body mount and skid plate, only rubbed the liner

You will 100% rub the plastics and depending on your UCAs 50/50 on the cab mount.

    *edit- I meant this for +18. At 0 offset it's 10,000%

Ok +18 it is then. Don't mind trimming the fender liner just don't want to CMC. Still under warranty and don't want any issues

    I ran 295 on +20
Had to the CMC, trim corners of front bumper and re-tap fender lining.

I'm running 295/60/20 on +20mm wheels which equals 33.94" and clear the body mount by about 1/2"

if my math is correct, 295/70/18 will equal 34.26" plus the +2mm extra offset your hoping to get with the +18's will bring you extremely close to the body mount. Not saying it can't be done, but you might be on the edge about having to do the CMC.

You will probably have to remove front flaps and push in the fender liner. I cleared the body mount (only a few mm to spare). But Nitto Trail Grappler tend to be larger than spec. I do have 3.5 inch OME lift, but as far as fitting goes, there doesn't seem to be much difference between 3 and 3.5.

I believe adding the lift will void your warranty anyway or at least on the power train.

That's what I was told by my dealer. I guess I will find out because the truck is in the shop getting it installed.

Find a new dealer. A c/o lift, spacer will not void your warranty. If something were to occcur they would have to produce proof that said lift caused said issue.

That's good to hear. My wife was more upset about the void warranty over the 5 grand spent on upgrade.

Warranty is voided with any lift not installed by your dealer and even then they will make it near impossible to approve your claim.
Trust me, I know by experience. I got rid of my Tacoma due to having transmission issues that were blamed on my lift and tires. If your planning on arguing for them to prove to you how the lift/tires caused the issue they will ask you "how can you prove it wasn't due to the modifications." And if they decide to proceed to show you how the mods became an issue they will more than likely be correct and charge you the fees, services, and etc that had to be done to prove to you the issue was due to mods.

Bottom line, warranties are ready to fight. I learned my lesson and did not purchase any extended warranties. Also, I doubt a tundra will have an issue dealing with a simple lift and a few inches taller tire than stock so why worrie about warranty IMO.

I'm still sitting stock height and have just very minimal rubbing on the plastic fender covers. That's a +1mm offset (Zero really...what's a millimeter between friends)

It seems to me that a lot of problems with the rubbing could be solved by getting an aftermarket bumper. I know it is another cost but not all bumpers cost a fortune if you don't need a winch right? Why not save up a little more cash and install the lift and bumper at the same time and get the tire size and look you REALLY want. After all, you will be stuck with whatever size you get for at least 2-3 years......just sayin'.....:stirthepot:
