Apparently you don't understand how transmissions and differential work and wear. You want to buy the truck from the kid doing burn outs or the guy who treats it right and takes care of it? I dont care what anyone here does with their truck, I simply stated that this thread is the reason I wont buy used vehicles that I need to depend on, people abuse things for no reason.

    Im sorry man
one 0-60 pull on your truck isn't gonna hurt it or make it any less reliable js

DC should have the same time as a CM.

There’s also other factors that go into play. Tire tread
    Tire pressure
    Tire temp
    Ambient temp
    Elevation
    Miles on truck
    Truck maintenance

Also, bad look coming new to the forum and getting attitude with members

Lol buddy, I posted "this is why I dont buy used vehicles" you asked why, I explained why. You came back with calling me uptight for not flooring it in my truck. I have 1,721 posts with 1,870 likes, I provide lots of actual helpful information when ever I can. You want me to share knowledge? Don't do 0-60 times in your truck, thank me when your $6000 transmission doesn't blow because you wanted to "live a little".

If you manage to blow up the trans on one of these trucks from doing a few 0-60s with a stock engine I’ll personally send you $100 for your extremely unlikely misfortune. Ain’t happening. :D

You want to talk about getting whats advertised, 19-21 trucks were advertised as having a transmission cooler but actually dont lol. To be honest I dont think many people actually go out and try to do the 0-60 times that are advertised for a vehicle, I've been around these forums for awhile and this is actually the first time I've seen a thread on 0-60 times. I like to be well versed in all information so I went down a rabbit hole and found this thread, https://www.tundras.com/threads/anyone-ever-tested-the-0-60-in-6-0-seconds-claim.22707/. As figured most people just dont ever test it. Id say if you're truck feels like its running right and can speed up onto the highway from the ramp I wouldn't worry to much about how fast it can go from a stop. Unless of course you do plan on racing it then thats a different story.

Like rey said twice, do it in 4hi. Put it in gear, hold the brakes hard, full throttle to stall up the converter for a second or two, let off the brake while still full throttle and let her eat! Tow haul makes negligible difference for this test. Can experiment with shifting in manual mode as the truck will shift slightly early into second in auto mode.

Can also practice launching in 2wd with all nannies off. Roll into throttle or modulate to get minimal wheel spin.

I can get a consistent 7.0 using either method in my DC with a personal best of 6.7. Practice and have fun haha

If I was racing a snail, maybe I'd feel like my Tundra was fast. Good luck out on the strip boys, but I wouldn't race for slips in my non-super charged Tundra.:burnrubber:

Dude, out of all the people you could take that tone with, you picked the guy who fabricates and sells parts to increase speed.

If this truck's transmission couldn't handle unloaded 0-60 runs, then it definitely couldn't handle dragging 8k behind it while briskly getting up to hwy speeds from an on ramp.

    First rule about fight club...

It's obvious you don't hang out in the right forum sections if you don't hear about 0-60 times. Go into the S/C forum and get educated by a group that knows this truck inside and out.

I hang out in the forums that matter to me, a group of guys thinking we own race cars and beat their trucks for no reason is not my cup of tea but to each their own. A simple google search of "is it bad to floor it" can explain all the reasons you create unnecessary wear and tear on various components by imposing more stress than if you didnt floor it. There's a big difference between coming up to speed when you're already rolling vs flooring it from a dead stop. You mentioned towing, yes the transmission handles towing 8,000lbs, does that mean you should also floor it from a stop with 8,000lbs behind you? Sure chances are its not going to break from doing it but anyone with common sense knows its just creating unnecessary wear and tear. In the end I dont really care what you do with your truck, have at it if you wanna race from stop light to stop light, if you think thats cool. My point is this is why buying used vehicles sucks because you dont know if the truck you're buying has been taken care of like mine or beat on like yours.

There are lots of factors that can go into why you aren't getting the results you think you should in 0-60. You have an almost 10 year old truck. How many miles are on it?

Probably actually much more important how fast you can get this thing from 60-0 than 0-60. It definitely does not stop on a dime.

    Yes sir.

Single tap you get the traction light and red ATRAC as I recall, if you hold then the vsc light also comes on, if you then let off and then hold down for another ~3 seconds then only the traction control and vsc light will be on. At that point traction control is 100% turned off and the truck won't interfere at all.

    Right on, thanks

I have a long bed DC and the tow haul mode is downright dangerous if I floor it, fast as shit for a heavy truck
