After doing some research, it’s really hard to conceptualize the difference a tuner makes... if the added HP and torque is minimal, and all it really does is give you more HP on the lower side of the RPM spectrum, does that make you quicker 0-60?

Anyone ever done a before and after set of comparisons on this??

Trying to decide if it’s worth it... Lots of people say it is, but I see lots of people say they don’t notice a difference - why would some people be so excited about it and others be so underwhelmed?

I have the bullydog tuner and it was an improvement for sure. Its not the hp you gain its the shifting. You stay in your powerband longer thus you will move quicker and the throttle response is enhance its super touchy now which i like. Even a SABM, exhaust and a tuner might get 0.4 seconds faster from 0 to 60 but its alittle more to that. Its part throttle or passing someone and step on it feels like its hauling ass. Its like a whole other truck with those mods. Best mod is long tube headers that will put you in 13.8 quarter mile.

Bullydog claims 14hp and 22lb torque at peak so it does add power no doubt.

Like stated above. It’s the driveability that you’re doing it for.

Stock, when you floor the throttle, the throttle blade doesn’t fully open until the ecu tells it to.

A tune will tell it to open sooner and more.

It will also adjust shifting accordingly.

As well as remove speed limiter.

There’s a few tuners out there. But bullydog is the original so they’ve had the most ‘practice’. And they’re the only tuner avaialable to date thst stores up to 3 tunes which you can switch between with relative ease.

Plus, I can send you one for only $380 shipped.

I had dap tune before they both felt the same as for performance and the cost and how bullydog bdx can changed tune on the fly is so cool. Bdx is the new thing and the way to go.

My guess is yes much different because when driving in tow haul mode truck seems to rev much higher where I think that the tuner has better shift points for that same reason just my 2 cents

Not the same shift points as TH. Better shifts adjustable throttle sensitivity, just a better experience overall. Also works as a scanner to read and clear codes.

How do the tunes affect gear hunt when using cruise?

I haven't measured 0 to 60, but objects behind me do get smaller quicker than before. I don't experience any gear hunt while cruising with DAP, and I no longer use the tow/haul button.

You don’t have to leave the tuner plugged in. Just download and plug the head unit back in. Unless Dap is different.

With DAP you only need to use the OBD port during the flashing process.

    Not nearly enough room here!
My 2010 Tundra is equipped with a Sequential Shift Mode, so when I'm in Cruise Control, I can eliminate "gear-hunting" by choosing the proper gear to be in for speed, load and road conditions.

Sounds good in the flat lands. Rolling hills I'm not going to run in 4th gear all the time to keep it from shifting.

Yep, just takes a little effort to learn when to go up a gear or down a gear. Like we used to do before vehicles got "Smart".

Go with the BDX and only need the OBD during the tune install. I then keep It locked away in the house.

Debating on getting a tuner to pick up a few ponies.

overall looking to get around 400hp/420tq out of the truck.

sounds like it’s $380 well spent?
