PALMDALE, Calif. — An actor who appeared in the “Power Rangers” franchise is being held on $1 million bail in the stabbing death of his roommate in their Palmdale, California, home, according to law enforcement.

Joshua Sutter died after Ricardo Medina allegedly stabbed him the abdomen with a sword, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a press release.

Medina called 911 after the altercation and was interviewed by detectives, the press release said. He was booked Palmdale Sheriff’s Station, where he is being held on $1 million bail.

The pair became involved in an argument Saturday that turned into a physical altercation, according to the press release. After Medina retreated to his room with his girlfriend, Sutter followed them and forced the door open.

Medina allegedly stabbed him once in the abdomen “with a sword kept next to the bedroom door.”

Local media reported Sutter’s death Saturday, and TMZ was the first to identify Medina as the actor who played the Red Ranger in 2002’s “Power Rangers Wild Force.” He also appeared in “Power Rangers Samurai.”

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that Medina was an actor who portrayed a Power Ranger.

You usually resort to the weapons you're trained to use.

Wonder why he was charged..if the roommate 'forced' opened the door...he would only utilize the sword in self defense in fear of being killed...wonder what the rest of the story is

I was wondering about that too. Apparently he retreated to his own room and his roommate forced it open.

Fun fact: I once met the red ranger (Jason?) in real life as a kid.
