Well, I got my truck back and with the new transmission, I have another truck payment. We found a jasper trans with a great warranty but…damn. Guess I just got my Xmas present that I’ll be paying for for the next 5 yrs. She does drive great though. Now I realize that the trans was never really fully operational.
I will be putting on this staggered slant cut tip shorty. It will look way better than just the straight pipe coming out in front of the rear passenger side tire.

Hey, just curious what paint did you use to match the black plastic for the center chrome Toyota emblem that you blacked out? It turned out great ! I just did the Rock Warrior Grille myself and saw your post and need to black mine out.

    Thanks !!IMG_7632.jpg

And now I'm wishing the RW grille came in Barcelona Red... Your truck looks good, even with the chrome bumper.

Thanks!!! I used SEM black trim paint. First I scuffed it a bit with 220 and then used rustoleum adhesion promoter. After that, just a few coats of the SEM. It also makes any faded plastic or rubber look brand new. I redid the plastic panel in the bumper and will be refinishing my running boards too.

Just realized I’ve done a few more things and haven’t posted. I added the Adarac m series bed rack, Toytec 1-1.5” shackles and Eibach shocks in the rear. It rides great!!! The exhaust tip got fit and welded on. Waiting on some Powerstop rotors and pads. Just going to refurbish my calipers.

Thanks ! Yeah, I want to debadge / dechrome it, but little costs here and there add up, so I plasitdipped the emblems for now and looking at wrapping the bumpers. However, I will prob do the 3" lift first. Sooooo many things !

Hey @Red Sonja - tell me more about your system for transporting cylinders. I’m a little groggy, but is that a boom in the back you have there?

Nevermind about the boom, I zoomed in and see that’s the rear bar on your bed rack

@Red Sonja - does that yellow rack in the pic hold the gas cylinders you’re transporting? I’m waiting on Leitner to get supply chain stuff remedied so I can properly transport mine using their rack system, but I’m curious how others are doing it. Best thing I came up with was a hand truck (that’s “dolly” in these parts), ramps and straps.

The yellow thing is actually a cage that hangs from a crane. And it’s about ten feet behind the truck.
You can bolt “blocks” on either side of the bottle on the rack and then ratchet strap the top of the bottle and use the hooks in the bed to secure the bottom. I haven’t really executed a proper design seeing that we ended up getting a 1000 gallon tank behind the shop. But the approach should work for propane and other welding bottles you may use.

Swapped out the 275/65r20 for 35x11.50r20. Surprised that I didn’t experience and major power loss. I’m kind of a light foot. I think it’s the ideal size for me. Now my wife doesn’t have to hear me talk about tires anymore. Everyone wins.
