Hi, so I’m looking for some advice from some of you who may know more about this stuff. Just purchased some new speakers and a sub for my home theater. I want to fine tune it to perform at its best and have tried to google and YouTube but just don’t understand a lot of it.

What crossover frequency should these be set at so the center for instance, does mostly only the highs and dialog? Same for the front left and right for just a little more mid tones and then my sub for all the low bass tones?

After that, should I adjust the individual speaker EQ or just leave them all flat?

    Thanks!

Most home theater processors will automatically send only the proper signals to each speaker, meaning you only need to set volume for distance in each speaker for your primary viewing position. Crossovers shouldn’t come into play.
What type of system are you setting up?
    5.1? 7.1?

Martin Logan Motion 8i Center, Motion 4i Left & Right, Klipsch 12" Sub. Some older Sony satellite rear speakers for now.

I didn't do any of the "auto-tunning' with the Onkyo mic. I need to find it and start with that probably and adjust from there.

The crossover point is best determined by the capability of the speakers. Standard crossover point for home theater is 80hz as long as your speakers are capable.

Your Martin Logans should handle an 80hz crossover without issue.

If you do not have a center sub, run full for center with a subsonic filter @30hz, but the actual speaker will have it's own recommendations.
