The problem with our trucks is that the grille and latch sit to close and to tight of a fit

So this is a no go without a grill replacement?

Yes the amount of room seems to be an issue because of the latch system. Do all the 2nd gen's have that latch in that spot?

That bracket may be mounted to the grill itself.

You can get one in there. I had a 20 inch in mine but switched to 4 Rigid pods after my grill swap. I bought the hardware at Lowes and used factory mounting holes. I will get some pics together.

Does this count? Not technically behind my grill...but close. I did have to modify the light bar by removing some of the aluminum cooling fins in the rear to clear the hood latch. For a $50 bar from Amazon though I didn't mind doing a little cutting on it to make it fit where I wanted it. I used the brackets it came with. It's wedged in there so the brackets are more to hold it from every coming off.

Those are close to what I was looking to do but I think I'm going in another direction instead of the bar Im going to make a mount and tie into the radiator support to mount (3) of these 9" led's

Currently going down this road on my truck.. love how clean this came out. What brackets did you use there to mount those pods? I am wondering if I can fit my 30” S8 in this location.

It was all hardware from Lowes. I'll snap a picture of the setup today since it is lying in the garage.

Awesome, thank you! I thought it looked liked something you threw together, but it also had a very “professional” look to it, so nicely done!
