Factory JBL system question

I know these systems aren't the loudest stock, but my rear speakers are very faint compared to the front and the sub literally doesn't sound like it is even working. fade everything to rear, turn bass all the way up and almost max volume out, cam barely even feel the sub vibrating.

Is this normal for these things are does it seem like there may be an issue?

Same with mine. I couldn't even hear my sub until I put an aftermarket head unit in the truck.

 

Was hoping there was a fix that didn't include aftermarket stuff, guess not. Doing some searching, guess this is a common thing. Wasn't sure if someone actually figured out the issue.

 

The subwoofer is really bad. I replaced mine yesterday. The JBL "premium" is just a bad design. It's a thin plastic enclosure.

The fix isn't expensive...

Did you replaced your entire JBL system or just the sub?

 

As mentioned in the linked post, just the sub and enclosure. The head unit, amp, and other speaker parts are bone stock.

 

Hi guys, new to the forums. I have a 2019 Platinum with the JBL system, and have noticed that it sounds like the front door speakers handle all the bass, and get nothing from the sub. When I go into the service menu to do a speaker test, you're lucky to hear the sub at all, and the front doors sound like a woofer. It sounds like this is consistent with what others are noticing? Also, when doing the test, I get nothing from the tweeters in the doors. Has anyone else noticed that.

Also, one last question, around radio reception. I have what I think is very poor HD radio reception. I drive the same route daily, and the HD radio goes in and out often, where, when I drive my 2014 IS350, I have no reception issues at all. Has anyone else notice this?

 

If you feel like upgrading, there's some good group buys going on right now.
Unfortunately, no easy or cheap fix, just gotta get the stereo.

 

Actually, if you just replace the subwoofer and enclosure it sounds good. It's the best 200 bucks I've spent on the truck yet. I no longer want to rip out the entire stereo system and put in a new one. Whole install took me about an hour.
