i have been waxing mine and so far it works... keeps the build up of crud from happening as fast and on a long drive i do a quick reapply just for good measure.

i wont bash the nannies as they work well in their day to day environment. its just they werent climate tested to all 50 states or the controlled environment didn't include cruddy street water, slush, snow and ice. the tests performed on most things we use is based on predictive parameters and mathematical calculations but cant possibly include every condition that every owner will encounter across all states, climates, altitudes and operating conditions.

do all you anti nannies remember the seat belt? or fuel injection, air bags, the fly by wire "gas pedal" that controls air and not gas these days? or how about the computer and smart phones? now a days we use them all without thinking about it and they all have evolved enormously since the first ones that everybody disliked and complained about. Its part of the growing pains and not a reason to hate or not buy a certain year model.

hopefully in due time things will be made right and adjusted as needed and if not then the off position will do.

The light came on when I switched back a forth between winter and summer wheel/tire sets. I put the tpms sensors in my good summer set and left the oem set without. (Couldn't justify the near $800 for additional set of sensors) and went for the sticker option to cover the warning light while the off season set was on the truck.

I do. I remember laying up in the back window as a kid wondering what those straps hanging next to the seats were.

I was using seat belts before you had to. They worked. Fuel injection. Not a nanny. It works. A bitch rebuilding a Holley 650. Fly by wire..Not a nanny. Works quite well for the most part. Air Bags....not really a nanny but a great safety feature. Only deploys during a crash All these things worked from the git go. I live and breath high tech. I work with some of the most sophisticated electronic test and measuring equipment every day. For almost 40 years now. I've seen many "good" ideas come and go. Yes...the disable feature is the best thing going. I do like the idea of today's passenger cars being able to have these new safety aids but not in my truck.

My TSS light comes on in heavy rain and snow. I’m pretty happy with the adaptive cruise control but I don’t use it in rain or snowy conditions. The light is a little annoying though. I’m patiently waiting for Toyota to come up with a fix. I’m sure they’re aware of the problem and are at least giving it some attention.

They'll get it fixed. It's hard to keep the sensors from getting fouled with snow and ice. Hard to come up with a work around other than keeping the sensors clear. I tend to be a bit sarcastic at times. The new safety features are cool and nice to have but they need to work and truly help and not become an annoyance at times when you need them.

Hahaha i remember when they had to be retrofitted and were 100% manually adjustable slides vs retractable reels, my grandma had a super fat friend and the straps were not long enough to strap her in, then the first cars showed up with the automatic belt and everybody would get tangled up in those.
