That IS the more important question isn’t it

It’s great. I’ve been spending more time with the Tundra back in cali lately though

Im not positive but I believe his is just the newer key that has key and fob integrated. Im not sure that the AJT does that so much that Toyota redesigned the key.

My key was different than that. I don’t know if you can combine them.

But I used a utility knife and some pliers and a pair of snips. It’s a bitch. Just glad it all worked out

Got it Line-X'd on Friday, Installed the Bak Flip MX4, AVS in channel vent visors, and Husky Liners. Received the OEM Bed light kit, Pop & Lock tailgate lock, and supplies to add wireless charging that will all go in Wednesday when the AMP Power Steps arrive.

Had some cheap round spacers from Menards to drop my carrier bearing. Didn't like them so bought these Unistrut washers today and installed. Stacked 3 and feel they provide a very cheap and viable option to lowering the carrier bearing.

Cleaned it up real nice before the freezing temps hit next week. Even took the time to clean the tires and apply wax addict tyre conditioner. The coating helps alot. From start to finish less than 3 hrs. That's setup and cleanup too.

I'd watch some YouTube videos on the buffing process. I can't suggest any particular products but I will say to invest in a good DA buffer with a 5.5" pad. I like lake country hdo pads, and hear good things about meguiars 205 polish, you may need some 105 compound. Throw a pic up in the detailing section and I'm sure you'll get some help. @driverdog @SouthBoundSteve @War Machine are just a few guys who know their shit

Not sure my wife would notice. Not that I’m complaining. My daughter had to point out my Jeep to her once because she didn’t recognize it due to the changes. Most of them had been on for over a month.

I have the trd pro skid plate, but if I didn't, I'd probably bought the black RCI skid. Matter of fact, if taking your truck offroad, you might want to consider the whole package they make. Basically different skids from front to rear. They make a front, transmission, and transfer case skid that goes together nicely from what I've heard. Cant speak of first hand experience. Might want to check with some of the guys who do serious offroading. You won't have to look far or hard to find them.

Mine hits the trails but I don't beat on it. I refuse until I have rock slides on. Even then I doubt I will beat it up. I use my truck more for work, DD, and towing my toys. It tows the toys I beat up in the woods.

Tnx Jim, and thanks for the detailed info on the wax addict vs aerospace thread you did. I got a lot of good info from it and now have both in my arsenal. I felt like I needed to get that last wash in before temps freeze tonight. Soon enough we'll have snow and salt on the roads so I had to take advantage. Wasn't ideal conditions around 40° with 30mph winds, but needed to get it done before I shut the water off outside and put the hoses away today.

Betsy needs a wash after a long drive yesterday. I’ve already blown out my sprinklers and such. I’ll have to take her to the wash bay next week presuming weather is decent.

Thank u sir. Honestly I never get tired of looking at it either. Anytime I go around it, like it poses and says hey look at me take a pic u jerk.

I'll be honest, it took removing and putting them rivets back in more than I wanted. But the key is I finally got it right by getting them professionally powder coated. Anything less, like the less expensive options I tried, just wasn't going to hold up. PC was the key, I'm very happy with them how they turned out, and knock on wood, holding up perfectly to this point. Even price was great, think 32 plus washers were only like $64 bucks. If I knew that, wouldve saved time, energy, and cussing, and done from start. Think I might do the chrome exhaust tips too, since they literally are the only chrome on my truck. 1 day I'll have the time.

Had a chance today to add my Whistler PRO-3700 radar detector system. Lots of steps but SO worth it in the end.

    Check it out:

I started by putting together a template in Adobe Illustrator to make sure I got the outline for the flush-mount display just right. Took some measurements with a caliper, drew it, printed a bunch of the template, and tested it out on some cardboard.

After I was confident that I had the template right, I removed the radio from the truck, made sure the little lip above it was hollow on the backside (radio harness needed to be moved), and taped one of the templates to the dash. I then drilled progressively larger and larger holes using a couple different stepper bits until I got to 28mm.

Once the holes were drilled, I used a Dremel MultiMax oscillating saw to cut a straight line between the top and bottom of them.

The edges of the holes needed some clean-up so I filed them down and test fit the display's bezel and the display itself.

That worked well so I powered on the system by connecting to the power and ground sides of the power port under the A/C controls. I powered the truck on and the system booted up and went through its self test.

For the sensor in the front, I decided mounting vertically using the included reflector would give me good coverage and so I removed the grill and mounted it to the grille's lower support. I'll have to get back to you on how well it works long-term behind the honeycomb.

I then put the laser detector at the top of the windshield and the GPS antenna (for alerting me to stop light cameras) on the dash.

For the rear sensor, I mounted it to the rear bumper's frame on the passenger side. This is not a good long-term solution, I don't think, but it will have to do until I get back from SEMA.

All totaled, the system seems to be working well. It has a ton of functionality and I don't think I have even scratched the surface, but I've 2,500 miles to drive so I'll have some time to test it out.

Yeah, it's like any other albeit a bit more incognito (no black box hanging on the windshield). When I drive through Virginia I'll have to turn it off, but that's pretty easy - you just hold down the power button on the dash display and it powers down.
