I got a buddy at work that said he hasn't had much luck with a programmer. I think he had the Bulldog. Querious how much improvement I could see in mileage and or power.

For a noticeable increase in power, zero. That said, Bullydogs are popular for all the info and configurability they provide.

Maybe a bit of an understatement. Yes, from a technical standpoint you may not notice the increase in "power' (raw HP). However, it does reprogram the ECU for premium fuel tuning and shift points where you definitely feel a noticeable difference in performance and responsiveness. Just my humbled opinion.

Would there be a noticable increase in fuel mileage?

Depends on your driving habits. Under normal driving, I picked up about 1 to 1.5 mpg. I also installed a S&B CAI at the same time, and do not know if this contributed in any way to the increased mpg.

more than I can list here
It’s true. Measuring power output on a dyno or at the track can only be done above 4000 rpm. You can definitely feel a difference below that rpm with the Bullydog installed.

Best way to put it, you can tune the truck to feel the way you want it to feel.

Is there a setting on the Bulldog for better gas mileage, or can you tune it for better mileage?

There is an "eco" mode, but truthfully all it does is soften you pedal to prevent jack rabbit starts.. I've not tried it, nor do I care to. There is only so much you will get and face the fact that the Tundra is not made for fuel economy.
