Hey guys any tips on trying to line up the rear shocks to the holes. They are not compressed and being a pain in the butt, I’ve been trying to jack it up but it never lines up. Thanks 08ECE842-AA45-47A5-93F6-3230FC75B4AE.jpg

let the rear come down to where it meets the lower shock.

Jack the truck up on the frame. The jack under the pumpkin needs to be lowered to extend the rear leafs all the way down. Should line up after that.

    Cupcake chit.
Giant screwdriver or small pry bar. Put the end inside the mount with the shaft under the very bottom is the shock. Should give you the leverage to compress the shock while it slides into the mount.

    Jack stand

    Floor jack

Tire chock under rear wheel that isn’t being worked on.

    Put parking brake on.

Jack up side your having issues with, place jack stand under frame. Truck should not be level, maybe 3” higher than normal ride hieght.

Remove rear tire using floor jack under axle.

Lower jack until suspension is at full droop. Check to see how close the shock eye is to the shock mount on axle. Adjust up as necessary. No prying, gouging or struggle. Slide on mount and torque to specs.

    Boom goes the dynamite.

I did it the hard way because I was lazy. I did it with the truck on the ground and the wheels on. I really don’t know why I insisted on doing it this way. But I knocked it out quick!

I pushed them up into place and got them to sit in the lower amount with the top nut loosely spun on. Then my oversized flathead screwdriver wrapped in a rag as I pried it up and slid the bolt in.

    Glad you got it handled!
