Hey everyone! Just bought my first Tundra. Specs:
    2018 Tundra 4X4 Platinum CrewMax
    Barcelona Red Metallic
    Black Leather Interior
    Running Boards
    TRD Performance Dual Exhaust
    Paint Protection Film
    Black Tailgate Insert
    Spray-On Bedliner
    38 Gal Tank
    Tow Package
So far - loving this truck. I have owned Toyota cars before, but never one of their trucks. I've always had good luck with the cars, so I figured "Give it a try." The 5.7 has plenty of power and torque and I love the technology. I was a F150 owner for many years, but this truck is way beyond that.

I will be putting a tri-fold Tonneau Cover on it and even though I have the mats, I'll put the WeatherTech floor liners on it to keep the interior more tidy. Wondering if I should put a bed Mat over the liner or not. Thoughts?

I'll be lurking around the boards here for tips and tricks, so if any of you have builds or "must haves" for me, please point me to the threads.

    Thanks - Leadfoot

    Welcome!

I hear Husky's have a better fit than the weather techs in our trucks.

Thanks for the tip - I'll check them out. I also found "OEMPartWorld" for an OEM Tonneau - any opinions on that would be appreciated. I'm looking for a tri-fold hard cover that uses the deck rails for attachment. I'll lurk around the various threads here too, just to see what everyone is saying. 50 posts=51+ opinions though ;-)

I've got the dealer installed trifold "backflip" on mine. It's a year old and I'm happy with it. I was in the house taking care of a new born - when came back out side to check on the older kids and a 7yo, 6yo, and 4 yo (probably 100-120lbs) were standing on it... I got them down and had a little chat with their parents, but cover seemed to hold it ok lol

pics of the cover are on my "New User" post:

Thanks Hectic - I took a look at your post and that is what I want (I'm pretty sure). Glad to know it will hold up under high energy stress. A couple of questions question for you - How does it lock, or does it? None of the descriptions say how it works. Also, is it user installable with the bed rails?

There’s a pull cable under each 1/3 that releases the mechanism that holds it under the mounting bracket. Give me 30 min and I’ll snap a photo, getting kids to bed lol

She's beautiful! Congrats, and welcome! As said in a previous post here, I'd recommend taking a look at Husky liners in addition to WeatherTech. I have the Husky "Weather Beaters" and they are great.

The pull cable with the latch out (I’m not putting much tension on it).
    B1EA2A39-4859-42A3-A162-6B63B8B43BBB.jpg

When you pull the cable the locking action retracts (on both sides)
    46F0516C-27CF-409C-92B3-7598355BFA19.jpg

It’s not a gun safe, but it’s secure enough. Even if you lock the truck someone could steal your shit by smashing in a window... it’s secure enough IMO

If you want a different shot, let me know

Oh: user installable: I didn’t, but I think it’d be easy enough to install it... provided you’re a little handy... like able to assemble ikea furniture... it’s not welded or anything.

Thanks for the info Hectic - That's good enough for me. I have a full shop and have been working on cars my whole life so I'm pretty sure I can install unless it takes a special tool that I don't have - not likely, but possible :)
I couldn't tell from your pics how it attaches, but my understanding is that the new ones connect to the bed rails on the cab end and the sides. It states that there is no drilling needed. I'm going to try to connect with the sales techs before I place my order just to be sure. I also have an alarm system on the truck so if something gets too aggressive or breaks glass it makes a BIG racket.

I've also sent the link to the "Husky" mats to the kids as a possible fathers day idea. We'll see what happens - I don't wear ties! lol

Just curious as to why. I have the weather tech as well but I have no issues. Fitmit seems fine. It didn't at first but I got them in fall/winter and they were very firm and unforgiving. Heated them up and they formed just fine. My only complaint is I wish the front two would have gone further up the floor board for people with long legs.

Looks like they’re clamped in. Not sure how thatd fit if you have deck rail system, I don’t.

    Again, I didn’t install it.

I just bought an '18 DC Limited and picked up a bed mat to go over the spray in liner but got a short one for a CrewMax. Too much to ship it back. If you are in Texas, maybe we can make a deal!
