Lookd like something went a little sideways yesterday. Jumped in the truck to go pick up Piper from school and see this...

Based on the gauge, I can’t be at low fuel level. Front seat air bag clips are connected. I did not undo any others yesterday. Battery was completely disconnect, both terminals. Any ideas?

picked piper up and the passenger airbag light on the dash showed 'off'. so, front seats should be fine. must be in the back somewhere. also, rear windows are not going down. you can hear the motor, they move just a fraction then stop. related? maybe the screws i used to mount the crossovers are too long and blocking something?

fixed the back windows. screws that i used to mount the crossovers were just a bit too long. for now, the double sided tape will have to do.

disconnected the negative terminal on the battery for about 10 min hoping that the low fuel warning go away. no such luck. that's still on along with the SRS warning light.

So, saga continues. I’m sure everyone is thoroughly enjoying the play by play.

Drove down to pick up Roxy from ballet and the computer finally kicked in and recalculated the range. Guess I just needed to drive a littlw further than a mile. Anyway, not sure what changed but it shows just shy of 400 miles for somewhere between 1/2 and 3/4 tank. I find this odd since for the last year of owning this truck it would show 415 for a full tank.

SRS light is still on. Hoping I didn’t short something while pulling wire yesterday. Does the dealer have a test for tracking something like that down? I’m due for my 20k service.

In my previous truck (2016 Tacoma) the SRS light came on twice, both times for mundane reasons - once for a seatbelt sensor that needed to be replaced, the other time for a wiring harness that had "play" and wasn't connecting right. Both covered under warranty and around the same mileage that you are having issues. The dealer should be able to tell what error codes the computer has picked up, and if you're only at 20k miles, you're still covered obviously, so no worries. Let them fix it, don't try to do it yourself would be my advice.

Thanks for the input. I was just about to change the thread title asking what size tire I could run on a stock rim with a 3/1 level lift...

I’ll get the dealer to take a peek when I go in for the 20k service.

    maybe, yes

I've read on this forum that disconnecting the battery resets mileage to some factory best-case. Since no one drives that way, mileage usually adjusts down.

Well. To be fair, I could probably never find it again if I need it.... ;)

You will have to back track. sorry it's not much help unless you list everything u did and even then without wiring diagram it will be hard to diagnose ... Did you tap a control wire or grounded something? My co-worker grounded some wire or connected to existing wires for a mod and had all sorts of issues. Unless it's something others have done and verified or had wiring diagrams ....

no worries. i did not tap into any factory wiring. i disconnected both terminals on the battery. the only airbag plugs i disconnected were for the front seats. i stripped the interior and applied sound deadner from the rear wall to just under the pedals as well as on the doors. i ran the amp power cable along the driver side door sill and pulled new speaker wire to all 4 doors. i did drill a small hole below the boot connecting the rear doors for the speaker wire. i was very careful in drilling the holes to not get near the bundle of factory wires going into the door. i'll double check those this evening.

my plan is to finish the stereo install this week then head over to the dealer for my 20k service. when it's there, i'll have them check the SRS warning.
