Brakes/Pads

Hey what’s up guys, long time no post. Been in Latvia for work...

So I’m in the market for new pads/rotors all the way around. Currently running 35s on 20s. I don’t do any crazy driving, I’m just not very savvy when it comes to brakes.
Any suggestions..?

If you had an earlier Model, I would tell you to replace the original calipers. But I think Toyota worked out all the pulsation and freezing issues in the 3rd gens.

 

I haven't experienced those issues at all with my 07 and first time I've seen that mentioned here. Not saying that didn't occur but I'm not aware of any caliper issues although I thought my OEM rotors sucked.

I'm not saying that it is happening to you, but.... I would check it out if you haven't already. It seems like alot of problems from the earlier models with the brake system.

 

Certainly an issue. Mostly what I saw were serious caliper/rotor issues on 1st gens. Most of the 2nd gen issues seem to be environmental caused or improper installation. I did see 1 total caliper failure on a 2nd gen with no definitive explanation of what the cause was.

 

1st gens according to what you linked to. 2000 to 2003 mostly reported having an issue. Been driving my 2007 Tundra now for 4 years with zero brake issues. Like I said..I've seen no one here mention this at all as a 2nd gen problem.

 

ebc, powerstop, stoptech. i put powerstop ceramics on wifey's car not too long ago. i really like them.

 

My vote is Power Stop rotors and extreme pads.
