Cool "Native".. ToyTec is the best and so is David and Carson. You made a wise choice getting the OME setup and SPCs. The OME shocks are truly not one size fits all. Dialed in to your specs. Choice of coils and the totally adjustable SPCs. SPCs are plain looking compared to other UCAs but bullet proof within reason. And.......ToyTec discount...Woo Hoo!!!! Can't wait for my bonus. David will hook me up! I've also dealt with the great Erik too!

I like my badges. Giving Plasti Dip a try. I tend to attract scratches. Still need to do a few more coats before final detailing. Weather sucks tomorrow. Finish this weekend. I can always buy a set of black emblems...2 cans Plasti Dip>>$10.

Thanks Pat. Didn't need two cans but took advantage of Pep Boys 2 for $10 deal. Runs through the end of the month. I forgot about all the stupid chrome emblems on the tailgate. S**t!

Man, I'm going to have to pick some plasti-dip up and do my emblems next, though I may tape better ;-) :p

Picked up my 2nd Yellow Top earlier today at my tire place that I had ordered. Got to check out the Cooper owned Hercules tire brand (USA) that is sold at independent tire stores. Specifically the Terra Trac M/T 35" LT305/70/18E. Made in USA.....Was impressed at price point..

I have their AT's on my work truck, not overly impressed with them other than the tread life.

I think the Herc M/T sidewalls are only 2 ply. For the $ compared to top tier tires maybe worth it. $200 vs $300. I have some coworkers who think I'm insane spending more than $150 a piece for tires...

I have heard a lot of good things about the Falken Wildpeak AT/3s. They are at one of the better price points for truck tires.

I realize that I'm not opinionated what so ever.........OK...everyone laugh at the same time now...............Let's wait 10 minutes for the laughing to die down before I proceed.......OK.......I do try to avoid saying to never buy something like a throttle body spacer. go ahead and buy one....now that is settled. I HATE JUNK SCIENCE or anything that is BS anecdotal...more than once K&N oiled filters have not only been trashed here but god forbid..."Don't use a K&N oiled drop in filter, it will ruin everything" . I say BULLSHIT on that. My Tundra is 11 years young. I've stated previously that I've used K&Ns since the mid 70s...WITH ZERO ISSUES.. My current K&N has 20K +miles on it. See attached pics.....Beware...don't get blinded by real proof that all the negative crap about K&N is for real... Top side of filter...clean as a whistle. (Ahhhh....heresy) Underside still mostly pink. I can easily go another 10K ....11 year old MAF still looks like NEW!!!!!! Hello????? This is not rocket science.....Enough with the "anti" oiled filter bullshit. My 2 cents...

    kn1.jpg Bottom
    kn2.jpg TOP
maf1.jpg Gee..a clean 11 year old MAF with no oil on it... Gee Wizz

My friend Mike, landlord just bought some Dean Tire Back Country SQ-4 AT's for his F-250 at our local Les Schwab. I bought my first set of tires from Les Schwab in Orygun ages ago. Dean Tires have been around since the 20's. David Dean sold everything to Cooper Tire in 1999. I am somewhat impressed with tread design and tons of siping. 55000 mile warranty! I'll be able to see first hand how these hold up. I haven't been to Schwab in years. They only got out here to CO a few years ago. Les Schwab stores are only as good as their manager and staff like anyplace else. I know they have their own branded off road shocks now. Haven't heard much about them at all which should be a clue. Anyways...I like the looks of these Back Country ATs. I'll find out how much per tire.

Headed up to Kingston Peak trail now. I had four KCs on my Ranch Hand. 2 Spot, 2 flood. Had room to mount one pair on my winch bumper this morning. Not sure yet if I mounted the flood or spots. I'll find out tonite when I wire up the harness!

Ended going up to my friends hunting camp down his "new" old road access. A bit narrow for a Tundra. If you don't like scratches you are shit out of luck. Most of the old mining roads up there are not a big deal. It's the spur Jeep trails that get a bit dicey with a full size. Took some time to finally prep my steel winch rope by winching to a properly strapped tree. Then...... on up to Dakota "Hill" 10,620ft. Was able to go up. Only a few drifts left near the top. Can't express enough how steep the last half mile up is. A set of short steep switchbacks with a few remaining snow drifts. Only tracks I saw at the top were left by ATVs. Some random pics. One is a large live Spruce that literally snapped off about 10ft up during a winter storm and fell across the "road". FS most likely cleared it off the road last a couple weeks ago. Oh.........a nice group pic of Moose "remains". Yes there are Moose up there. Not many, but more each year.

OK..............Decided to add a 3rd KC. Wiring up now. I'll either have 2 floods and 1 driving spot beam or visa versa....:homer: Don't worry I have a 4th KC.....I can only fit three on the bumper.
