Is it OK to use this for regular washing of vehicles or will it remove the wax?

I heard it works great for Fords and Dodges.

Use dedicated car soap, clay-bar it, etc.

Exactly. It is great for stripping the paint of wax to then clay bar and build up a new coating with new wax.

Saw a Found On Road Dead this morning. I use car wash soap period. I try to find one without wax. Dawn does a great job of cleaning the bilge in my boat. I use it for that, washing the boat, dishes, and greasy hands.

why not just go to the store and buy some car wash soap ?

I will use dish soap to clean the rims / tires with BUT not on the vehicle itself......that is what car wash soap is for.

Dawn is made to clean anything and everything, it will eventually mess up your paint over time. Get your self a foam gun for your garden hose and buy some soaps and have yourself a ball washing your truck!

I read somewhere previously what a great job Dawn did on washing vehicles so I started using it on my Tundra. Then I read this week that it would take the wax off your ehicle which freaked me out. I am going to buy some Mcguiars Classic Gold car wash soap today from Auto Zone - $16 for a gallon using a 30% off coupon.

Get a good wax or sealant to apply after you wash it. If you've been using dawn then you'll definetly need to wax it. No harm no foul. Lots of good help here as far as far washing goes.
