Getting ready to order some rock lights for my 18 CM and I was curious where you all have installed the lights and/or any additional parts?

So here is what I learned after 2 full days of installing my Rock Lights. Make sure you check to see if they have the correct Bluetooth and they are compatible if you are going that route. I went with the Bluetooth enabled / remote controlled by the phone option and after I got them all installed, the APP hasn't been updated to work with the newest iPhones. I have the 8 ROC Light set that I got off Amazon ( I didn't need anything fancy as i don't rock climb and wanted to sync to music etc.) So with that , i got a $100 set of lights and 2 days that don't work :)

I have an email into customer support and will bet looking for other options. Ill pass along whatI did and what I learned.

I have a total of 8 lights I installed. I'm looking to get an SPOD soon, so I wired it with that in mind in the future.

For a Tundra CrewMax their isnt enough wire to go from the rear corners to where you want to go. I did a lot of lineman's splicing and soldiering - PS this is how I spliced them -

I mounted my control box underneath in the frame rail not he passengers side. I made a small 4 inch plate and bolted it to the frame. I then mounted the box to in underneath. ( I know its not water proof but I drive in water once every year for about 10 seconds crossing a stream to a cabin. )

I mounted the front lights to stainless brackets that I sprayed with Rustoluem truck bed coating to make them black. I didn't want them in my fender wells and put them more out front )

I ran the power wire to the passengers side, underneath the upper frame in front of the radiator, out near the air box and down with the other conduit.

The front lights were mounted on the brackets near the sway bar.

The rear lights were mounted on the rear above your mufflers.

I have dual so they are above each tip. I used the same brackets and mounted both the exact same place, drivers and passengers. I ran the drivers side wires across the rear with the trailer wires and then with the passengers rear wires. I ran them down the frame channel all the way to the control box.

The lights under the rear cab were mounted directly to the bottom of the rail .

The passengers side has the gas tank in the way, so I mounted that one further out under the edge near my NFab bars.

I hope this helps someone a little. Just how I did it. If I can't get the APP to work on my lights, at least I have power and ground and the brackets and can rewire new / different lights if they can't get it to work soon.

Took some pictures when I put the fuse in. I can't change the colors or turn them off without the APP working.

Update : I got an email from the company and the APP they tell you to download on the box is wrong . The new APP called RGB Remote works.

My kids were making fun of me for spending 2 days installing stuff and it not working and according to the 13 year old “ that’s what I get for for buying stuff from China”.

Great setup and write up Bryan. We're waiting for the new rack and tonneau cover to arrive and installed before we plan for the lighting. I think wifey gonna like this idea.

My kids thinks it’s very cool.

It seems the higher up you get the rock lights , the better spread and light you get out of them.

The ones in the rear of the truck mounted up high under the bed give out the coolest output.

Under a Tundra their is plenty of room to run wires / etc. The hardest part was running a power wire and that wasn’t too difficult .

Just get ready to splice wires. The set I had was a 4 wire . Red /green/blue and black.
I had 3 out of the 8 wires that I had to splice to make longer.
