I'm trying to connect bed lights to my 2017 tundra. The company claimed I can just tap into my tail lights for my 12v source. Unfortunately that didn't work unless I'm pressing the break light. These lights come with a switch wired on them. I'm just wanting to be able to turn them on ANYTIME I need to without ignition being on. Does anybody know a way I can do this? I figured I could run wire from battery to back under truck but really not wanting to go that route if i don't have to. Anyone know a place in rear of truck I can tap into for a 12v source that stays hot? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Any 12v source that lights up the test light with the truck off. Check wires in the vicinity of your wiring, but be careful not to overload the circuit. Once you find a 12v constant, do a little research to find out what it's for before tapping it. Or run a new wire and fuse from the fuse panel on a constant 12v receptacle and wire it through a switch.

Check the wiring from the trailer 7 pin connector , one of those wires , usually red or black has 12v battery power

I like mine to be on its own power wire and not off the key,so i can mess with my fishing and hunting gear in the bed as needed and not fuss with my keys but thats a cool way to wire them in for sure
