    I have a 17 Tundra and my nephew had a 17 4Runner.
I installed Spyder headlights and chose Hikari LED as my bulb of choice.
I then helped my nephew install Morimoto 35w HID kit in his Runner.

We then lined up in the street at dark and played with the lights. Neither one was noticeably brighter then the other and we both agreed the light output looked the same. The distance was the same the brightness was the same.

However when you look directly at his lights at dark they are BLINDING! You cannot stare at them. He’s over today and said he has been flashed at least 300 times in two weeks. Me, not once.

Both lights were adjusted to the exact same spot on my garage door.

I really cannot make much sense of it all but I’m happy I went the Hikari route and for those in a situation of making a bulb choice maybe this story will help.
    Enjoy the weekend!

Interesting. I've had a few Tundras and have always had a problem with people flashing me. That's with stock everything. I installed 35w morimotos and have had absolutely no problems since installing. The OEM buckets scatter the light whereas the projectors have a much more distinct cut off. Just my .02

Agreed. Both of these are running projectors.

most OEM projectors are meant for halogen bulbs, but tons of people put hid's in halogen projectors and end up with decent results.

If the bulb types are the same you could swap yours over and see if the same thing happends

I’m pretty confident they are seated fine.
The most interesting part is when staring at the HID it is seriously fricking blinding but has no better output than the LED from our observation.

And if it blinds me looking at it I would assume that’s why he’s getting flashed.

I love my spiders, and they sit right in the back of a car’s rear view

If it gets too dark on back road then you will get these also

Yea. They are pretty easy once you figure out routing and so forth. They are plug and play.

Just a guess, but you said that both sets were aimed at the same spot on the wall? You have to keep in mind that if the center of his headlights sit closer to the ground than yours, and his are aimed at the same place then his are aimed up more than yours and would explain the problem. Measure the height from the center of the projector to the ground and then measure the height from the cut-off line on the wall to the ground, if the wall is more than the headlight then they are aimed up.
