Many dealer blogs (posted a sample link below) are stating September 2017 along with the other 2018s. I suspect that it might have been delayed and I imagine that the TRD Sport will be in limited supply at first so not all dealers will get one off the bat. If they do... my guess is they may not stay on the lot long. You might want to phone your local dealer to see what they've got coming in and when. They might have a better idea. I can't even pull up a TRD Sport from an inventory search on www.toyota.com. Maybe playing with different zip codes will give you some different results in the inventory search.

I am a new member here (started reading up on the Tundra long before I joined).

Anyway, come Monday I will be the proud owner of a 2018 Limited CrewMax. I took me almost two weeks to find the one I wanted (160 miles from home). Details are: Black Metallic, gray leather, TRD package, bed mat, moon roof, TRD rear stabilizer, Premium package, door sill protectors and running boards.

I had a hard time to find a black truck with the Premium package which is a must-have for me because of the BSM and the JBL stereo. The truck came with chrome nerf bars but I had the dealer switch those to the brushed stainless steel boards. Besides that they will install the OEM tailpipe chrome tip and a TRD shifter knob (I like to know who designed the ugly stock knob)

I traded a 16 F-150 Platinum in and wanted to have all the same features (most of them). I also asked my salesman to check if the factory remote start is available yet. The only thing I have to do when I get the truck is get the front windows tinted, order tailgate auto-lock and a BakFlip MX4.

I will update here after I drive it for a while, especially about my new MPG experience I will have. I drive pretty conservatively so probably won't be to bad.Tundra.jpg

Costco inflates their tires with nitrogen...nitrogen tires tend to deflate less than regular air. Also remember that Air is 78% nitrogen and 21% oxygen VS " nitrogen" only which is about 93 to 95 % pure nitrogen.

I have a 2018 SR5 off-road CM with the tow package. Is the trailer hitch receiver 2 inches? Might be a noob question but hey...

Drop will vary depending on which ball mount you buy. I know Toyota includes ball mount with a lot of trucks which is stupid. Most likely only a first time buyer would be the only one that needs one. Then there is the ridiculous price. I told dealers to get rid of it and knock it off final price.

Cool. I am getting a Waterport shower with the trailer hitch mount. Their description says 2 inch so now I know it'll fit the one that came with the truck. Thanks guys!

the reason I suggested 2 1/4" in drop is that most standard trailers that amount will be level for a trailer. on my 4runner a 2" drop makes most standard trailers level. each vehicle is different but most come in around 2" drop.

Has anyone with a 2018 noticed the sound of something "disengaging" once you start moving forward? Sounds like it is coming from the front left of the truck. Only happens after the truck has been off and in park.

Yep. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen threads about that topic for previous years as well. Haven’t really read through them but now that I started noticing the sound this week I was going to do some searching and reading.

Yes. I have noticed some kind of sound that is always from a stop. I'll have to pay attention further if it is from a standard stop or if it is after it has been off and in park, as you suggested. I was trying to figure out if it was from the dealer mods or something else.

I have it as well. Really only notice it on the first time going forward. Plan to look heavily into it this weekend when I'm off work.

I thought it was an issue but a sales guy had me drive another new truck and it did it too.

It’s most likely an ABS check or a check of the safety sense break system is what’s im told.

2" drop works on a lot but not nearly all. My current boat is level with 2". Previous boat with level to slight rise, pop up camper and utility trailer with ATV requires a 3-1/2. Trailers are different. Need to also account for hitch weight when figuring drop. Some say a little lower than level is best for trailer control but I usually lean to a little higher especially with boats. Higher and boats will drain better if it rains while hooked up.

Makes me feel a little better that others have noticed this sound. I too will be doing some digging over the weekend. ;)

Last night was the first time I drove my new truck while it was dark and I noticed two things.

    1. All the switches are lit up in a pretty blue except the one to adjust the outside mirrors. Can one of you 18 owners check if your mirror switch is lit?
    2. The LED headlights are amazing. They are brighter and shiner farther down the road then the LED (also OEM) headlights I had in my 16 F-150.
    3. The heater comes on really quick.

Other than that I really like my new truck and will like it even better once I figure out how to get to some of the settings in the info display. I sure like to turn the pop-up messages off for the adaptive cruise when you approach a another vehicle.

    =========================

I was planning on ordering a set of Weathertech vent visors but they only make a set for the front, Toyota must have changed something on the rear doors from 17 to 18. So my other choice are the ones in the link below, I don't think they use tape. If anybody has them I like to know if they interfere with the door windows.

Just did some searching on some dealerships websites and FINALLY found a dealership that has the 2018 TRD Sport Package installed on a Tundra. Yes seems like some dealerships are getting these trucks....about dang time! Not sure what the delay was but happy to see them showing up on lots. I'm sure there were more produced but those probably were going to people that special ordered them. Maybe this means that @Roman will be able to get the grille ordered back in October :). I'll be crossing my fingers that it will hopefully be sometime next month. Oh almost forgot...if you want to check this truck out on the dealership's webpage do a search for the Toyota dealership in Grapevine, TX.

I ordered the same grille in cement back in September. Per Roman it should be arriving December 8th per Toyota...yours should be there around the same time I’d guess. It’s also the last piece needed for mine!

Your truck looks sweet. Im a newbie as well to this forum and have to ask what lift and wheels you are running. I’m trading my 14 in on a CM just on the fence between the 1794 and Platinum. I’ve always had black trucks, well last 3 anyway and thinking either MGM or SM. Especially after seeing just how good MGM can look (your truck)
