Sadly, no cap holder in the later years like mine :(

Believe me, I've bitched about it several times on here.

It really boils down to the bulb. If the bulbs are supposedly "CANBUS compliant", they should have adequate resistance built into the bulb and/or its driver to avoid issues.

LEDs draw less than a standard halogen, in some cases, exorbitantly less. You're using resistors to effectively emulate the effect on the circuit, to mimic what a normal halogen would do. But it's only necessary in cases where the manufacturer doesn't bother, and in 2025, failure to manuf'er your product such that it's CANBUS compliant is a sign your product is inferior.

I'm fairly certain hyperflash is rooted in the same issue: Using LEDs in place of a standard light, such that the relay doesn't have enough load on the circuit to function correctly, so it triggers like ham.

You can always buy an earlier door version and paint it white.

It's been done, but they are not a direct swap. there is a post or 2 on here about it. I remember some guy using rivets.

I wonder if it coincides with removal of the lock on the gas door? A feature most people don’t mind having.

Looks like just the plastic fuel filler surround was just replaced with an integrated latch/opener mechanism and the door itself. No real permanent modifications necessary.

I figured CANBUS compliant bulbs would keep errors from popping up on CANBUS vehicles. Guess it could also have a positive/noticeable effect on non CANBUS vehicles too.

It always drives me crazy that so many people will go through the effort of doing LED turn signal bulb swaps in their vehicles but then just not care about having hyperflash.

I hate that, almost like a rapid strobing, if you look off-center of the headlights you can see them sparkling. And I don't think the drivers are aware their lights are doing it. Drives me nuts.

Only the locking fuel doors have that. Those of us without locking fuel doors have to hang our gas caps over the door by the tether. I did see someone was 3D printing a cap holder that clips into our doors, but never ordered it and can't remember where I saw it.

I've seen these and they are called Gassholes by mesocustoms. Made for the Tacoma but maybe could be modified for the FGT

"B40 Built" is a person that makes some 1st gen tundra parts. I bought the tailgate bushings offered on the website and they he also makes one of those gas cap holders that I have installed on my 2006. It's pretty nice.

I finally wired my Gentex mirror and calibrated the compass. I want to say @shifty` gave me this mirror a good while back now. If not him, it was definitely someone on this forum. I still need to button everything up, but it works. I'm going to finally do the ditch lights this weekend and button it all up at the same time, since my switch panel is where the sunglass holder was. Both harnesses will get tucked into the headliner and run down the A pillar.

    Hehe... Lucretia My Reflection
    20250916_153955.jpg

It's too bad the compass LCD isn't green, to match my dash lights. Oh well.

Hmm I wonder if I need tailgate bushings. My 06 tailgate recently started creeking on the driver side when I put weight on it.
The steel cable had a less than tight bolt, but tightening didn't affect the noise.
