I'm kind of in the same boat. Been looking at 17s but worried about the brake caliper clearance and dont want a lot of poke like a 0mm offset. From what I gather the 17s need a low or 0 offset to allow for wheel weights to be placed without hitting the front calipers.

Ive had s few 17" wheels on tundrs before, most recently icons. A +25 offset was fine, weights just need to be placed close to the outside of the wheel

I would think the 18" +40 would be the best fit. You're only going to a 20mm wider tire but that being centered on the wheel is only a difference of 10mil and your moving the wheel out 20mm so you should have plenty of room.

I've been through the whole thread. Non-lifted truck it seems people land as follows:

    For 17"s: 295/70r17 or 285/75r17
for 18"s: 275/70r18 or 295/70r18 (mixed info on rubbing, some say do, some say they dont')

wheel is probably +20 to +30 offset.

    Personally I'm gonna go 295/70r18x8.5 +25offset.

This SHOULD not rub...worst case I'll lift it.

Vision Flow 351 18x9 +18 offset with Yokohama Geolandar AT4's LT325/65R18. Stock truck with factory TRD lift. Tires rub a tiny bit on the fender liner. I need to do a pin back, I guess.

Probably not. It’s not bad. If anything I’ll see if they can adjust it during the alignment. Only happens on the drivers side.

I have a TRD OR with 6112/6100. Front on top at 2.2” and back with 2” ome coils. Had a buddy offer me his 35x12.5r18. I have method 18x9 +18 wheels. Will this work? Already thinking I’ll need diff drop for the weight of bigger tires? Hoping I wouldn’t need sway bar drop but worried about width of tire rubbing. Anyone have something g similar like with the dobinsons that is similar in lift? Thanks!

I'm sure others will give you more accurate info for your offset, but it seems like you'd be fine. I have 35x11.5R20 on stock wheels (which have a high + offset - so they are tucked-in more) and I didn't have any rubbing even when on stock suspension.

Now I have 6112/6100 (with same settings as yours), new UCA's, and running 1" Eibach coils in the back. I have lots of room. I even wish I had 12.5 tires, but those will come when I go down to 18" wheels on my next tire purchase (which I have earmarked for +18 offset BTW).

I do have the Dobinson diff drop.

Tire choice will also make a difference. My Toyo's do not have huge side lugs and are technically a "small" 35.

That’s good to know I appreciate it! I am wanting some room above the tire as I do off-road for elk hunting etc. but am hoping my offset will make it so I can get away with not doing a bar drop. That’s the one thing I don’t want to do. Already kinda accepted if I did this I’d need uca and diff drop. Do ya have any photos of it as is?

Dang that actually looks really good. See what ya mean on wanting the wider tires. There is a lot more room than I thought there would be

Yeah, 12.5 is a little wider than I felt comfortable with on the 8" wide OEM wheel. I'll freshen everything up when I go with the MR 703s on next tire change (hopefully not for awhile lol).

Wheel budget went towards the suspension this round (go vs show).

I did, on a discounted pre-order ($70 off per wheel) otherwise more than I would normally want to spend. Was a little more than the MR318 but also lighter by 8lbs per wheel which I thought was worth it. Stock combo was around 78lbs, this combo is around 80lbs. I was taking a gamble since I couldn't find any 3rd gen running these yet so was just going by what everyone else was posting about diam and offset since I didn't want much poke.

Ready for another set of tires and thinking of going “18 vs my “20’s, I like the Method 316 but that +18 sure seems like a lot of poke. dont you guys get a ton of crap flung up on the side of the truck? I drive a lot of miles and dont want to kill my truck. 91K miles on it so far. Got 60K mile out of the current Pathfinder AT’s but looking at the Cooper discoverer either in 275/70/18 or 275/65/20. It’s just the poke holding me back.

I have method 317 18x9” with +18 my pictures I just loaded are with a 35x12.5. I use to have 275/70 and the poke was perfect in my opinion. A little like around an inch just a sliver of treat out the side but mostly sidewall. Moderate but visible.
