So BDS and Zone are apparently the same company. At least that’s what the associate told me. I think there’s a 4.5” BDS kit that has the Fox 2.5. But you can’t find the shocks and struts alone on their website. You have to special order it. Honestly I would just call Zone. They were very helpful and verified all the parts fit my setup. And since they’re basically the same company they will have what you’re looking for.
I don’t know the specs on the shocks and struts but I have the part numbers. Lmk if you want the part numbers. I can DM you.
Great, thanks man. Sometimes this site is great to bounce ideas out there before doing something that ends up with being stuck down a rabbit hole.
If you don't mind DM'ing me the part numbers that would be awesome.
I will reach out to them as well, just to confirm their thoughts on my setup vs yours.

If you could please post the part numbers here in case someone with the same situation in the future stumbles across this thread and doesn't have to go through the same process you did all over again!

also if you don’t mind me asking. What was the deal on those icon UCAs?
Metal Tech 4x4 I think always has the 20% off. I think I paid like $800 + tax... but that was a few years ago.
PRICEY, but they look bad ass compared to my LR UCAs.
I lost faith in the LR ones after a buddy of mine in his FJ cruiser nearly got stranded up in the mountains when his ball joint blew out. he was able to find cell reception eventually and get someone to bring him up an OEM to rig it up to get out of there.
Piece of mind. That said, I carry a spare delta joint on trips JIC

No worries. I can post it here. But just keep in mind, for some reason when you search these parts they don’t populate. It has to be a special order. But if you provide the part numbers to the rep, they’ll be able to pull it up.

It's funny.
I talked to Fox a few years ago and they said they didn't make custom shocks for 4.5" lifts. I wonder if they have an exclusive agreement with BDS / Zone.

Do you know if these have remote reservoirs?

Also to clarify these so you know if these are direct mount... or do they use a spacer to get the right height?

im pretty sure they have a set that fits 4.5 lift. The rep I spoke to thought I had a 4.5 lift at first. Just give Zone Offroad a call. Look for Chris. He’s the guy who helped me out.

What do you mean remote reservoirs? Both come with reservoirs that you mount.

To answer your other question. The front strut is going to be a direct plug in play. It will remove my front strut that has the extender on it.

Great thanks, I'll just give them a call to talk through it with them, thanks for the name of the person! Yep sometimes referred to as remote reservoirs. Remote because the rears sometimes can be piggyback (attached to the shocks.)

I emailed BDS and they got back to me right away to confirm that the part numbers you gave would fit the BDS 4.5" kit too.
I also confirmed they have reservoirs and DSC adjusters and and bolt direct. And you have to call to order.

Also, Zone just told me: You will also need the mounting bracket part number BDS128700 (also have to call in for this)

Awesome! I’m glad it all worked out! Let me know how your build goes. I’m looking into the UCA. Would you mind sharing the cost of your UCA? I’m looking at a BDS UCA and I’m trying to compare prices.

Has anyone actually run a BDS 4.5" / Zone 5" with the Fox upgrade? LINK HEREI am curious how it handles.

When I got my truck with BDS lift it had the beat up whatever the entry level shocks were with spacers and lift blocks in the rear and I really didn't like the drive feel.
I wonder what the Fox setup is like? I will cross-post in a new thread / do more searching.

Ahh crap! Now I am back on the idea of buying a new crossmember and getting it welded on and go with a killer Mid-Travel setup :annoyed:
That said I have taken this truck many, many places, rock crawling, old mojave road, hole in the rock trail, and have gone on many Jeep trails with a buddy in his Jeep that I regretted mid-way through. My skid plates have the proof, as well as my SW pinstripes, haha. That said I don't doubt I could be smoked by a LT setup flying through the desert, but I will get there eventually...

It was awesome with my setup, I can only imagine how fun it would have been with a LT setup
