Nice. I have been thinking about one of these toppers. My only concern is I use the full bed regularly enough that I taking it down may be inconvenient. Please share your experiences with the topper as you have them.

So I’m gonna assume by the likes that people aren’t having issues with chips or peeling?

Hows this attach? Can you post some photos if you have them of that process. What's the load limit on them? Nice installation, nice and clean!

For whatever reason I’ve never seen the white peeling in tissue on a tundra. Blue and gens occasionally. LOTS of ravs, corollas, Camrys, highlanders, and 4Runners. A few 3rd gen tacomas are starting to pop up too. The worst one I ever saw Toyota pay for.

Awesome info, thank you! From my research the 18-23 tacomas had paint issues from the plant in Mexico

my 2nd Gen hasn’t peeled but it does have a lot of rock chips; I haven’t seen as many rock chips on hoods of 2.5 gens though- also could be the different hood angle

Both our Sequoia and Tundra are white. We received a paint recall letter on the Sequoia about the white paint issue. So far, no real issues on either. HOWEVER, my buddies Sequoia chipped like crazy on the front right quarter panel, so it is definitely an issue on some. We keep ours in the garage and out of the sun most of the time, his stays out in the sun.

No drone at all on the highway. Unless I get over 2K rpms, I can’t hear it. Wife approves!

They attach under the bed rail. I have a crewmax so I had to drill and route out the plastic, but installation is super simple. They claim 1000 lb breaking strength

Yessir, will do. I never plan to remove it, so not an issue for myself. However, it’s 8 bolts that connect it to the bed rail. I got it put on by myself in one piece minus the canvas, the canvas adds an extra 8-10lbs if I had to guess. So I can’t see it being too much of a burden to remove when needed, especially with two people.

    Too many…scratch that…not done yet.

I think you're correct. I don't know if it's a paint color issue as much as a year issue. We've had '05 Camry (grey) and '08 4R (blue)...both had paint peel issues. If memory serves, the clear coat faded bad at first, then the color paint.

    No issues on the tundra.

Got a set of these from my wife as I sent her some ideas for my birthday a few months away. Well, they went on sale and she got them for me in July. You can get a router bit for them, I just used a really sharp utility knife to cut the plastic covers in a semi square shape, they actually cover quite a bit so you can make an oopsie here or there. Used them once already, handy little things.

Looks great. I currently have a softtopper but like the integrated rack on these. Since you have had a softtopper before how would you compare the two as for how they seal up on the edges, corners, etc.?

The Wildtop drapes over the sides a little, so beads off to the side of the truck. It seals better overall than the softtopper, no need for foam tape on the bed rails. I don’t physically see a way for water to get in.

I’ve only had it on for 2 weeks, but we’ve had several down pours and from what I can tell, it’s stayed bone dry.

It’s not as “pretty” as the softtopper by any means, but the functionality outweighs the looks for me.

Much better. Torqued to spec, took her down the round, got up to 80mph and zero vibrations.

Any extra vibration in the cab from the solid engine mounts?

Installed some goodies from @memario1214. On the Tundra, replaced the Rigid SAE's with some SS3 Pros.

Very slight at idle but the feeling of the engine mounts to me the truck felt more connected and solid especially in the dirt. Much needed upgrade in my opinion

Swapped out my Pioneer with an Alpine Halo 9. Next projects will be the SPod from BD and the Dirt King UCA's from @memario1214. I did slide the unit a little further back into the dash kit to close the gap up some. @AZTundra
