I could have sworn Toyota made a plug in kit for the 2nd gen tundra. Now I want one I cannot find one.

probably not made anymore due to age but does anyone know the part number.

2013 double cab with 6.5’ foot bed.

I have seen the DIY kit and not really interested in doing that one.

The pop n lock kit is a nice feature for convenience, and to some extent security, but not as secure as one would think. Hear me out. I think manually locking and unlocking is most secure method. It just ran across my mind… as I have a lockable tonneau cover with the tailgate pop n lock feature. Even though my tonneau cover is locked, someone can easily break my window press the unlock door switch, now my tailgate is unlocked and thief now has full access to my secured items in the bed. Whereas, if no pop n lock kit installed, then my tailgate would still be locked plus tonneau cover locked. Thief would not have immediate access to my bed items. Definitely something to think about. Convenience vs Better Security. Hope that makes sense.

I grew tired of walking back to my truck with the key in hand to check if the tailgate was locked.
It usually was, but I had to check it anyway.

You make a good point, although a Tundra is more likely to get the cats stolen than anyone busting a window to get access to your truck bed.
I took the convenience of knowing the tailgate was locked over manually locking and unlocking it.
