Yeah their budget axles don't have good reviews. I opted for their "best" axles with silicone boots and they have held up perfectly since 2020.

Just about always always always go with OEM my dude. Just had my driver-side CV axle replaced a couple of days back and opted for OEM over a $120 less alternative. It hurts the pocket but better than having to do it twice :D

I believe the Silicone boots are only on the inner portion of the axel. The guy at CVJ said they do not install them on the outers because they have a greater risk of tearing due to road debris/branches ect. Glad to hear your outers are holding up tough. Maybe they changed the material used at some point.

I think the OEM boots are plastic and that's what CVJ uses on the "best" option.

I have an '05 with a 3" lift on 34's. Just replaced a boot while installing the lift. After a couple months and 2 off-road trips, OEM boots tore on both sides. Just upgraded. My mechanic has used these on several 1st Gen Tundras with good feedback.

Yes. They're the TrakMotive extended travel CV axles.

We couldn't get mine to seat right so they're leaking. I believe @NickB_01TRD has the same ones as well.

    Original owner!
My son has been running the Tracmotive on his 200 AC 4x4 for a little over a year. He will Ben hone in a few weeks to do the front brakes. I will post up pics on how they are holding up. I saved to stock ones to potential rebuild in the future.

Those may need to be my next set in a few years when these boots split yet again on these Advanced Auto axles

Reman OEM is currently unavailable. But you can still buy new, bulletproof, new OEM CV axles, whose boots won’t start to tear or crack in 1-3 years like almost all the aftermarket ones will.

If your oem cvs arent damaged except for the boots, it may not be necessary to replace the whole CV, especially if lifted and the boots are rubbing that could again cause them to wear into splitting? Here's a picture of the rubbing that happens with high angle:

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/my-cv-boot-mod.190669/page-4#post-5287675

Are your inner boot baffles touching?

Here's a rundown of options for rebooting. There's links to the 930 boots available from KarTek Offroad, the CVJ boots if so inclined to go with a really epensive option, and the Allpro kit, as well as details on outer OE kit, and rolled edge clamps from Cap Hardware, along with a video and write up of the installation.

Cap Hardware's phone # is (949) 235-7658 BTW and they are very helpful.

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/1st-gen-lunch-table-general-discussion.60450/page-1916#post-3451375

New links to the Norma Toro and Carlyn clamps are here:

    https://www.caphardwaresupply.com/p...yle-hose-clamps-9mm-wide-25-40mm-w4-stainless

    https://www.caphardwaresupply.com/product_detail/40-60mm-torro-thin-clamp-partial-ss

Think it was $15-20 including shipping for a set of eight. Don't then have to buy special pliers and also can tighten as desired with more control to address grease sling.
