I also used the 2” version so I had more flexibility in mounting the rear cam, its a great mount imo. IMG_2433.jpg IMG_2436.jpg

Thanks kept it simple, it's a snake knot. Only a bit at the top so the rest would be flexible.

I just read somewhere to be aware of the fakes on Amazon.

Thanks for the link. I'll definitely take a look at these. I was just going to fab something, but having something already done is nice!

Has anyone tried mounting an aftermarket camera in the blank space by the third brake light? Where the higher level trim models have them installed...??

I have the uhd box, it works but doesn’t retain settings when I turn off the truck. If you move icons they go back to default. Apps you download do remain . Just kind of a pain that it doesn’t remember

There are those here who have done this more snazzily than I did, but this is the first mod I did to my Platinum. Ran a 12 gauge wire from the pass side fuse panel, snuck a NAPA 12 V outlet in a bed slot for protection. On my truck one could just lay on the floor under the truck and see right up under there to wire it up. (Fire extinguisher for scale!?!) (Actually the only pic of the outlet I had)IMG_6991.jpg

I upgraded my bed storage system from the amateurish wire method I started with. Amazon tool holders and aluminum brackets machined from Home Depot stock.

Finally got around to installing my AJT oversized cupholders and an orange start button ring since I have some other orange bits inside my truck. No broken clips, didn’t have to disconnect any wiring. Life is good.

I added some tool box lights today. Inside the tool box lid added LEDGlow 2pc white led lamps off of Amazon. I wired it from the Toyota accy bed light harness that was bundled under the bed. The kit offers a accy switch & magnetic door opening switch option, but I hard wired the lights to come on when the bed lights come on from door or tailgate opening. The mounting base has 3M tape and cut at a 45 degree angle so they give some bed lighting, but do a great job of illuminating the inside of the tool box.
Also added 2 bed lights just under the tool box latch. They’re from Harbor Freight and $29/pr. Really liked that they’re armored up a bit and the housing made of aluminum, & mounting on a rubber mount. Comes with a flat mount & curved for rollbars, I used the flat on the outside, and inside sandwiched the curved behind the locknuts as a spacer to prevent gear from snagging on bolts. I put all these lights on the same circuit. When you open a door the cab cargo light comes on, along with factory bed lights, new rear facing bed lights & tool box lid light. Makes the bed very usable at night.
    I thought it worked out pretty well!IMG_0600.jpg IMG_0601.jpg IMG_0603.jpg IMG_0605.jpg IMG_0608.jpg IMG_0612.png IMG_0611.png

    Agreed.
But reversed color order (red over yellow) is the way, even if it's technically wrong. :D
    Especially with the red "TRD".

Technically yesterday but it was interior TLC day. Ironically, while giving some TLC, I knocked my radio knob off. Just shy of 30k and nothing but super soft usage over two years. Does anyone know if that part has been improved from Toyota, or should I just get a 3rd party knob?

I went back and forth and decided to go with the technically correct order. I do like the look when reversed as well. I think it will look better once I do the Tufskinz raised matte black and red outline Tundra in the valance.

The new knob seems to be more robust. It doesn't flex like the original, when trying to move it side to side. I've got a 3rd party in my console, if the new one breaks, I took off when they put the new OEM on.

My first knob broke at 35K. Ordered OEM replacement, P/N: 86128-AN020 for $9. It is definitely redesigned and WAY better. Don't expect it to break again, I would be surprised if others are experiencing that.

Thanks. I went ahead and opened the wallet for the AJT knobs, mostly as an excuse to add some red highlights. I might still ask the dealer to replace it with OEM since it's almost due for the 30k service so I have a spare.

I want to do the AJT radio+ drive mode knobs, shifter, oversize cupholder kit, center console panel, etc. all with the blue screws to match the platinum interior, but seems a little ridiculous to spend ~$500

I'm doing just that, but spacing out the purchases. already did the center console swap and the cup holder a while back. today the 2 knobs should be arriving. I did go with the yota expedition versions as i wanted to add a little more visual change witht the topo engraving on the knobs. I'll post some picks if/when they arrive.

I agree on the wanting something more, though I like the look I'm not so sure that I will go down the AJT rabbit hole with this build yet. (I did on my 21 Tundra) For now I'm going to go this route:

    https://www.tufskinz.com/collection...tun091-drive-mode-selector-dial-toyota-tundra

I may just rock the stock knobs until they break off. There are too many other mods to spend money on.

heh, yeah the suspension/wheel/tire/roof rack/front and rear bumper/light bars/accessory panel/bed cover or rack or both/audio upgrade fund is a bit thin.

I took mine into the shop to replace the SOS module in the overhead console. It has been giving random "communication module failure" messages on me and would never do it at the dealer. Except when I had it in last week, when I went to leave, it did it 4 times in a row. The service advisor observed it twice. It has not done it since. The part came in and I am looking forward to ending that issue.
