Does the cruise get locked out when you get a low tire pressure alert as well?

Haven’t experienced that but it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if it did.

I got lucky. The timing cover on the motor that came out was ok.

They say it should be ready tomorrow.

At 9am they said all that was left was the SC & belts/hoses. Should be ready by the end of the day.

I'll believe it when I'm driving home in it.

    Good luck!

I just got word that XAT will be picking up my block this afternoon. The machine shop finished it last evening. Trying to get confirmation it'll be fully built by end of next week so the installer can start prep on the truck.

Picked up a used lexus 570 driver side washer tank and filled to the neck holds 1.52 gal. Received an early b-day present, got a trackspec louver. Should fit nicely juust aft of the radiator. And a 2 gal intercooler tank. Spoke with FI interchillers this afternoon and he stated that it makes just a little difference in cooling with a pressurized tank vs non-pressurized. Thanks! @armyoffoo!

I assume not, this is why I avoid shops when possible.

Patience is not a virtue I have an excess of, I have learned in these situations, complaining won't change the fact they will finish it when they do.

I never believed the 1 week estimate when I started, but also did not think I'd be 5 days from a month. If they work and I get it tomorrow, that's where I'll be.

Assuming it's the same shop, Phoenix engine specialist. They say they have 3 long blocks in stock for $4900 no core charge. Or was it cheaper using your engine? They also buy engine cores.

No, they were amazing! rebuilt my motor in a couple of days, this is another shop.

I don't want to put them on blast, first, they were raided by ICE & lost 2 mechanics, then the owner went on vacation & a skeleton crew was there, then he was delayed coming back, stuck when his transmission had an issue.

Hopefully they wrap it up tomorrow & it's perfect. Luckily I have other cars & don't NEED it, I just freaking really WANT it.

    lol

@ 7:58 PM I got this response to my message asking if it would be ready as he hoped & that I need 45 minutes to get there. (sent because he didn't answer the phone)

Not gonna happen I’m gonna try and work on it over the weekend a little bit possibly Monday. Just ran into a few gasket issues.

Anyone know off the top of their head if the Magnuson intake is a true 4" ID maf tube. The one I received from SCOL is more like 3-3/4"-13/16" ID, OD 4-1/8".

Stock ID was approx. 3-5/8", so I was a bit underwhelmed in the ID gains. But if it makes a difference I'm all for it.

Somebody else will prolly beat me to it, but
I can try to measure the SCOL this evening. But even if only going from 3 5/8 to 3 13/16 is just shy of an 11% increase in area/volume.

Reason I found a thin walled intake tube that was pretty close to 4.5 inches ID.

Well I cut the hood. Got the heat extraction louvers installed. It was a pain to get a straight line on this curvy hood. It is a smaller one but it fits exactly over the area I wanted. Will fab up a rain guard for winter.

Alright, talk dirty to me. Did you lose the heat/sound material underneath or just cut it? How does this line up with undehood components? In my head this would pour water on the belt area, no? And do you have any wider shots to better appreciate aesthetics? I like it, just trying to think through it. Solid work taking the plunge!

Being 2nd owner and a 2007 I didn't have any insulation but it would be cut/removed. For a 2nd Gen there will be 3 supports to cut for the forward section and only 2 on later models. Rain water will get in but this size keeps it away from the battery and fuse box. It will be over the fan shroud area. I'm going to make a rain guard that will divert the water forward to the shroud area
I went with trackspec to have the center support but it relies on the sunroof principle where the frame strengthens the area its in. There are several types of louvers from Race Louvers, Trackspec, Versus etc. There are bigger vents too and side vents. @ARES35 has a louvered/vented hood on for a little bit now and most aren't concerned with the rain/water. I'll try and get a better pic angle.

Thanks for those photos! Fully getting it now. That would be really subtle color.marched, too, without needing hood pins. Great job!
