No. Read this thread for more info, it's the community info resource/index to tell you all that stuff, and moreover, where you're screwing up or putting your Tundra at risk, with a lot of solutions to common problems: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

If you don't think your truck or your life is worth a few minutes to read that thread our community has prepared, and you just want the direct answer:

RC/AC with standard bedside are same tailgate
RC/AC are physically different from DC tailgates and the AC stepside tailgate.
Stepside is different from all other tailgates.
All AC trucks can have either stepside or standard beds mounted, with minor efforts.

If the tailgate is rusting, I'd be worried about your frame.

The only tailgate that will fit your step side is another step side.
It's probably going to be easier to do a bed swap than find a step side tailgate, unfortunately. Not saying you can't find stepside tailgates, just that they are a lot more rare than the fleetside RC/AC tailgate or fleetside DC tailgate.

Take a day and make a lot of calls. Vehicles listed may be crushed by the time you see the ad.

I know.....went through the horror over and over again that day. I'd see a gorgeous Tundra, make the call, BOOM! "oh we crushed that last week."

It took several calls that day to source the two rear door handles for my double cab. Some yard in Texas came through. Sweet lady on the phone too. :)
