A little encouragement never hurt nobody. Use hand tools, not ugga duggas, download the fsm, and ask for a little guidance before you start each project, and you’ll be your own grease monkey in no time. Just dont ever panic or get into too much of a hurry. These old trucks can be fixed.

I'd clarify that a bit with "standard discount price shows up on the item page and in cart, final added discount shows up at checkout".

They're always offering some percentage below discount (their 'standard discount' 15-50% off), but during sales like the Independence Day sale going on now, that extra 20% off (and free shipping, and free tax if applicable) don't appear until checkout. It confused a number of people in the past.

The reality is, Ourisman can't hand a candle to the discount other Toyota Parts Program participants offer during these national sales.

I should have noted if your brake fluid looks like black coffee then start a drain or suck out and fill program. If the bleeders aren't frozen than do a full flush.
My Father in Law gave us a 1984 Mercury that was it have had all the maintenance done but no one ever thought to change brake fluid. It looked like black coffee when we got it. Coming from the rust belt I never even attempted to open a bleeder instead just went through a program of exchanging the brake fluid from the master cylinder every month. It took over a year but it did look better. Not perfect but better.

PS - @kolouri I looked up a 2000 V8/4WD Limited VIN and these are the LBJ showing in the EPC:
    • Passenger/RH: 43330-39466
    • Driver/LH: 43340-39356
    • Bolts (need 8): 90080-10066 (NOTE: There was a note in the EPC about different fasteners depending on manufacture date, but also, see THIS THREAD which says this is also correct p/n, and your bolts are single use, so you MUST buy 8 new ones, ideally)

Cart price shows $229 when you add it all in. Price at Checkout is (if you're outside Alabama) no tax, free ship, $183.41

Links above point to the dealer in question, their Birmingham location - avoid buying from their Decatur location.

yeah can't wait to be spending all my extra money on truck parts lol. but hey it's either this or an obscene new truck payment and old trucks are cooler plus i dont have to worry about dinging the paint :)

Thank you so much for doing that for me. Ordering today! I saw that thread last night after trying google search for part numbers and thats when I went to bed. I was way too tired to go down that rabbit hole by myself.

Yall have been super helpful. Guess I better order the timing belt and lower control arm bushings now as well. Heck, might as well do the brakes and engine filter since theres a sale.

I did read the carfax and there's nothing in there about LBJ. I also dont see a recall under it's VIN. I think I'm going to go ahead and just order the new ones on sale bc there is some play on the driver side one and I just want to get it done asap.

Oh good tip on lifetime alignment! Not too many options for service out here in the hi desert, but I'm going to ask around.

Oh the toyota guy I saw yesterday suggested that channel as well. I haven't looked yet but plan to this weekend. I swear, youtube is so overwhelming. It's so many videos and sometimes you dont know until halfway through if it's sh*t or not. it's an incredible learning tool, but theres so much poop to shift through, too.

Oh, wait. I remember a member here telling me about that. I think it’s either 2001-2003 or 2002-2003 Tundras that were only impacted for the recall. Sorry, my mistake.

No worries. All I kept reading about was those recalls but couldn't find anything for my truck. Maybe the 2000 was a unicorn year that didnt have them, I'm not sure

    What’s wrong with stock?
I just did three cars yesterday this way. I didn’t use the 3m wipe packs that are with the kit. Instead, I buffed them using Maguire’s 205 and 105 with an orange pad on a rupees DA polisher. When they were clear I coated them with the Maguire’s ceramic spray. They look great let’s see how long they hold up.
