Backing with trailer(s) & BRAKE!!! Any way to turn off??

My truck does the exact same thing. EVERYTHING is disabled, I am in tow mode, etc, and it will still sound crazy alarms and slam on the brake. And not just the emergency brake, it will somehow lock the drive train so I have to shut down the truck and restart it. I have a 7-pin connector so don't think this is the issue. Drives me insane.

 

There was one report of this where the dealer found one of the sensors on the rear bumper was bad. Replacing the sensor solved his issue.

 

No, I have it as well. First Toyota I've owned. I was told in the test drive the sensors can all be disabled. I was NOT told this was only disabled per drive and must be done every time. The backup sudden BRAKE is insane. Been driving 40 years zero accidents and my vehicle thinks it needs to brake for me. Stupid. I park in my garage. I have only 4-5 inches clearance front and back to squeeze the truck in. I get this BRAKE 95% of the time (sometimes it doesn't trigger). Very disruptive and I feel like it may damage the braking system over time. I've disabled to OFF all the settings as well. Still does this, no trailer.

This is another poorly thought out safety item. I back with my door open a lot. This Toyota doesn't let the truck move. Insane. All these sensors. I also drive in rush hour. The piercing beeps when someone slows and turns to the right in front of you and you totally have room to go behind them is terrible.

There has to be a trick to turn these incessant beeps off. This is the main reason I joined. Such a nice truck aside from these beeping sensors.

 

I back up so slow that i touch the brake and the truck is just barely allowed to move. Still does it.

 

I run into this with the tailgate down. Moving some stuff long enough to need tailgate down and she won't let you do it. Turned EVERYTHING off except the AC and nothing helped. Tried to fool it by rolling back in neutral and whiplash! No trailer, just tailgate down. This is stupid. Can I please back up to my garage with the tailgate open?

 

So I was able to solve this. I didn't see this in the manual but it was in the info card. There's a button left bottom of the steering wheel. IIRC last button on right on top row 2024 tundra that disables the brake sensor. It's been a few weeks and with this off it only triggered once, and i was backing up quickly. Sonit may engage if you're backing up quickly.but the other 40 times in reverse parking in my garage the brake slam and loud noise has not happened. Hope this helps

Yeah. That one LOL. Again, I still got the slam twice but that's it. The nice thing is it stays off unlike the autostart.
