Has anyone tried a 2nd gen Sequoia cluster in their Tundra?

I notice that the Sequoia clusters, although all being 2nd gen, have a wide array of pn#s. Can you get one from any 2nd gen?

Did you happen to look at the part number on the one you got? Should start with 83800-0Cxxx
From what I can tell Toyota does differentiate between flex and nonflex, flex ones will have K or Q designator in the second half depending on year. Seems they have different pn#s for Limited and Platinum as well which is surprising.
    I found an 83800-0CK30 I might take a stab at for $65.

Looks like mine is 83800-0760. The one I purchased is the one linked in the first post in this thread. The Toyota site also has it listed as 83800-0C760-RP.

Hm, looks like its for 2008 Platinum only, curious
And then '09-'11 have their own set, then '12-'14, and so on

That must be the one I purchased. I went for a 2008 since my truck is an 07 and there is no 2nd gen ‘07 Sequoia. And ‘08 is safe from flex fuel I imagine.

Just an FYI, I think it was some of the Limiteds with a rear air suspension had an additional indicator in the cluster to the left of the transmission temperature gauge. This may or may not matter to you. Back when I did my search, I was able to see pictures of the actual item being sold, so I was able to filter those out, so I have no idea what part number they were.

Also, I just occurred to me that @e30cabrio has a 2013 Sequioa and I think that he's swapped in an 18+ cluster. Maybe someone wants to have a go at trying that. I have no idea what was involved in making that work, but he's been tagged! :poking:

The flex cluster reads a different resistance range in ohms from the sending unit to know the fuel tank level.

I think the regular cluster works on 0-400 Ohm while the Flex is 100-500 Ohm. I know the flex works on a 100 Ohm "offset" the 100 Ohm is 25% of the range so your gas gauge will be off by 1/4 of a tank if you mix and match them.

This was only extensively tested on the 2014-2017 clusters. I dont think FFV started until like 2010 ish

I think the one I got has that, but none of it is visible through the tinted lens, and does not illuminate.

Well, that's good to know. I would've bet dollars that it'd do something silly like illuminate all the lights because it wasn't getting some sort of signal from whatever system manages the air ride.

    @ScreenSavers
How is your instant read fuel usage and distance to empty, have you noticed if it's accurate?

It’s right on for me. Actually on a trip right now and everything seems accurate. It took a little driving for it to learn but that’s to be expected I think the fact that the cluster came out of a Sequoia with the same size fuel tank (26 gallon) and non flex fuel helps.

Did you completely disassemble it, needles and all?

Ya, the tinted cover unclips really easy. They're also reasonably priced if you were wanting to replace it. The needles can gently be pried off with a dinner fork. When you refit them, just rotate the posts gently all the way counter-clockwise and press the needle back on at the zero indication. I don't now remember how the circuit board mounted to the fixture, but it was probably just small philips screws.

Thanks! Picked one up the other day for $70, so I just need to fix that led and put in the jumper and in it will go!

I looked into those but it appears you would need the whole bezel and probably some other fiddly bits

Alright, it's in and working a treat. For reference I have a 2013 flex fuel, the cluster I got was from a 2013 Sequoia supposedly with flex fuel pn#83800-0CK30. I say that because I got it from an auto dismantler and I never saw the vehicle myself.

For the EPS light I did not end up removing the LED. Once I had taken the needles off that side of the gauge I removed the overlay to find that each LED underneath has its own tiny cubby hole. So I just found a plug of rubber I had laying around, shaped it to the right size and stuffed it in the hole. No light getting out of there.

The cluster I got does have the indicators for the air suspension but they seem to be inoperable which is fine.

For anyone reading this thread in the future, if you can find a cluster with the right price for you personally, this is hands down one of the best cosmetic quality of life changes you can make to your truck.
