Haha you make time, it’s always hot in the south, plus I have 3 kids under 3 and another on the way. All about priorities and what one wants to get done.

Guess it’s the mentality from retiring from the Marine Corps. People always make excuses about time yet they scroll tik tok, eating Cheetos, while bitching about being fat and not having the energy to work out.

butttt back to washing trucks. Ya only a foam cannon and hand wash for me. Couldn’t pay me to use an auto car wash.

Friday afternoon and Saturday was spent working on my inherited Nova. I did a rattle can detail of the engine compartment. Mind you, this is not a restoration. This car is a driver and a restoration may lower value, as that can hide problems. This car is solid front to back with just little surface rust here and there. I wanted to dress it up a little for the new drive train we are putting in her. I then sprayed the front under carriage to be more uniform in color. Saturday was quite challenging to get the motor and transmission stabbed in. Passenger side tie rod outer end had to come out along with the passenger side center drag link pinion mount to get the Moroso rear sump oil pan down into the hole and remount them into the channel cutout of the oil pan. Look up Chevy II oil pan and you can understand what I am talking about. The motor and transmission are in place and all bolted in. We need to get the exhaust manifolds cleaned and ceramic coated, fuel line bent into shape, radiator installed with the metal finger guard mount fabricated and some other odds and ends done before firing the motor back up again. Thanks for looking !

Summer in the Pacific Northwest means it’s BMW season.

Detailing the undercarriage of the T100 as time permits, ongoing. Pressure washed a few weeks ago, then manual by hand w solution. Had some surface rust, so neutralized with off the shelf conversion. Circled back with pre-paint prep, and Chassis Paint to match original, completed rear diff/axle today. Took the time to cover parts and hardware with foil before painting. There is still a bit of work to do, nice start though. Restored headlight lenses with dual stage off the shelf Meguires.

Hasn't happened yet, hopefully this week. But I am going to have the following maintenance stuff taken care of:

    1. Transmission dropped and fluid and filters replaced.
    2. Oil Change for my 5K mile replace.
    3. Fuel injectors cleaned and cleared.

Another big step this weekend with the 1965 Nova SS. We got the motor fired up in the car. Drove it around on my buddies property. We are still working the little kinks out.

Finished up the undercarriage on the T100. Restored the hitch, rear frame tails, and the remainder of the underside. Unlike the rear, the front half went relatively quick; detailed and reversed minor surface rust in a few spots, touch up w Chassis Paint. The paint matches well to nineties Toyota original. Last step will be new spare tire and refresh the spare wheel. It has been a rewarding project, about 20 hours total, thanks for looking.
