@Justyman Wondering how this setup is. I am ordered the ATS HD set and wondering the Bumpstop/Shock combo. I have 5100’s installed but are 6 years old & wondering the logic behind a new combo. I run a Safari-racked ARE Topper Fulltime Daily with the HD’s for a double axle car hauler. I was wondering if the Timbren/Sumo Stops with the old shocks are the way to go or just new 5100’s. It’s a while “Im in There” scenario as a shop is doing the install. Thanks in advance for input.

I'm not shifty, but since you quoted my post - I went with ATS HD leaf springs, 5100s and Firestone air bags. I also used Total Chaos lowering shackles to cut down on the HD leaf spring lift.

I just put the camper back in a couple days ago. The ride is great.

Not sure, but ballpark 1,000lbs. It was 860lbs when it looked like this

    Now it looks like this

I haven't weighed it since building out the interior, and I don't weigh my stuff, but I'd say ~200lbs added to the original 860.

I think I remember seeing something like 500 for the ATS HD. Or at least I saw that number somewhere. That's what the air bags are for. Sounds like you're way over payload but I guess you know that.

Just saw this in my notifications. Based on what all was just said, I think your best bet is getting a custom leaf pack from one of the two vendors you mentioned. Neither one will do you wrong. I don't think the ATS HD springs will handle that eight satisfactorily enough.

But I'm no "Yoda" so you may want to grab input from some of the other 1st gen guys over in the 1st gen subforum, creating a thread specifically for your truck: https://www.tundras.com/forums/1st-gen-tundras-2000-2006.2/

Maybe use a 1st-gen specific thread title like, "Need 1st gen advice for 1000lb in-bed camper"?

We have a couple guys over there who run similar in-bed setups and can give you specific advice, but they rarely (or actually never) come over here to the suspension forum. The 1st gen guys, for the most part, never leave the 1st gen subforum, so we miss out on a lot of threads.
