Just got my '17 Tundra and wondering what way I should go. I have a topper on order that should be here shortly.
-I've never owned a truck with a topper before
-I've never owned a truck that didn't have a spray in bed liner
-I will be putting in a Decked drawer system

What route should I go with box?

If you're getting a decked drawer system, I guess if say do a spray in liner or nothing at all

A little of this and a little of that.
If I was putting in a drawer system I wouldn’t spend the money on Line-x, but that’s just me. Good luck!! Glad you’re here.

Can’t comment on linex, but I love my bedrug. Just got it recently and looks nice and holds items in place while moving and moves well when you need to.

Spray-in liner would be what I'd do in your situation. My set up is spray-in with a mat.

Line x = peace of mind (I load and unload stuff without worrying about the bed)
Bed rug = peace for your knee. (I didn't get around to getting one yet though)

Both if you can swing it. Line x first though.

Bedrug question: got one yesterday and threw it in the back of the truck. Figured it would be needed immediately to haul Christmas gifts and all easier. Seems to stay in place fine without the mounting pins. Are they really necessary or does it seem to stay fine without over time?

Mine was the same way at first.I ended up using bulk 3M velcro from Home Depot. Works real good. You just cut 6" lengths and strategically place the strips.Make sure you clean the bed metal surface where the velcro strip will go with isopropyl alcohol.

I had a Bedrug installed in my 2013 CM, and dealer didn't want it when I traded the truck in, so I removed it and transferred it to my new '18. The bed in my '13 looked factory-new. I pressure washed it before I installed it in my new truck, came out really nice!

I haul a lot of furniture and cabinetry....perfect for that. It is not very good for hauling things like firewood, brush, etc. The particles, needles, etc. get caught in the fibers, and can be difficult to remove. What's best for any individual varies, depending on how they use their truck. I did find, however, that bear and/or deer blood washes out easily.

The only thing I've ever had a hard time removing is dog hair. I recently had a gazillion spruce needles when I cut my Xmas trees. Vacuumed out no problem. If need be, it only takes me a couple of minutes to take it out and high pressure wash it. Always turns out like new..

Has anyone had rust issues while using the Bedrugs? I am tired the plastic liner crap but not ready to go for Lin-ex quite yet.

Spray in bed liner for protection and a mat to keep things from sliding around ... that's what I'm using.

Zero rust issues. The BedRug is breathable. Had one in my Taco too. But then again the climate here is very kind when it comes to rust.

    @caz41
Since you are getting the decked drawers the entire bed will stay covered 100%.
Anything you add is wasted money and the rug would probably interfere with the drawer installation.

Depends on the design of the decked drawer system. If things are able to get under the drawer system, personally I'd want spray liner for protection. If wheels are on the bottom of the drawers, a bed rug might make opening and closing weighted drawers more difficult.

I am not sure what the liner would be protecting. The decked system doesn’t make holes in the bed & with a topper, there’s no moisture. It’s not going to be detrimental to spray in the liner, it just doesn’t do anything. I have added a rug on top of my drawers that i can easily remove when i want to...
