Awesome! The stance I want is the second truck down and mine is actually the 5th one down just 2” taller now, same tires.

Great pics. Lots of beautiful landscapes. How long were you camping/over-landing? IIRC you started before T2S and just finished up, right?
I'm kinda jealous I didn't see any water while I was in AZ.

I saw lots of water in Arizona. Even got in and soaked my weary bones in it. You were too far south. Also, fun fact, the nations 2 largest fresh water reservoirs are located mostly in Arizona.

I figure I'll probably be back again in two years. I thought about tagging along with you and Mo to that water hole on Friday, but decided to just hang out at camp that day with Casey and Polo.

Just got this 06 xsp 2nd. I plan on turning it into a work truck. Had anyone had an success with adding a utility topper with tool boxes or a bed slide? It’s replacing my 03 dc Tacoma that has a a.r.e topper with a custom bed slide I built. Just trying to see what options there are out there. From what I’ve found most are geared towards the 2nd gen tundra.

Much of our collective knowledge is in here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

Your truck looks cherry. Make sure the frame is good and hasn’t been lipstick-on-a-pig’s, timing belt/radiator/water pump has been changed in the last 100k, and nobody installed aftermarket lower ball joints, BEFORE you drop a bunch of $$ into it.

Also note, those Enkei wheels are semi-sought after for 1st gen’s and 4Runners.

Another loaded down cross Texas trip over the weekend. I got a bike rack on fb marketplace and man does it make packing the bed easier without bikes everywhere! Also saw a 400k 1GT in the wild - Wimberley, TX. Was able to calculate the mileage also - about 13.5 loaded up with family and gear. Not so bad - I got 14.5 or 15 before the lift and tires. This was the first time I got to see how the truck did on hills with the bigger tires. Maybe a smidge more gear hunting, but nothing surprising. Also, she sits near perfect level when all loaded up, which was the goal, so I’m happy with that.

Next thing on my mind is electric fan… get a couple horses back and maybe some mpg. But it seems like that is a big oem violation. The wheels are turning in my head…

It's been discussed on here plenty. Yes, I know it's something common in the hot rod world. The general consesus with the 2UZ-FE is: Skip it, in the bigger picture, it's not worth it.

I disagree with that take. It makes a very noticeable difference at the low end like when taking off from a stop light. I have the flex-a-lite kit and if you force the fans to stay on the coolant will sit near thermostat opening temperature (180). For my use case only downside is less reliability, but that's the case for most aftermarket parts
