    If it’s a challenge to judge the tightness of the plastic housing by just snugging it up then you probably shouldn’t be doing an oil change. Have someone show you or watch a few YouTube videos. You wrong in thinking that a tighter oil hosing will seal better. You could do that housing up by hand and it wouldn’t leak.

    I changed to the metal oil filter cap in 2019 just shortly after I bought it in late 2018. Never had an issue
