Is this from the valve body check valve? I was taking off the coolant puck and it was in the outlet...

4 years without it? I wouldn't be going back in there just for that.

Yeah, I'm tempted to leave it, but curious if it changes anything, like the mule kick shifts if I'm heavy on throttle. I was already planning to do a drain and fill since I'm replacing the stock cooler with an aftermarket unit.

Drain back valve should be the valve that doesn't let the converter drain down after sitting for long periods of time. But if there's one thing I've learned about Toyota's, they are different than anything I've worked on to date.

Is it the original transmission. Extra spring? :rolleyes:Weird how it would migrate to the puck.

Original trans, only worked on by me. It was folded and stuck inside the outlet port on the transmission. I took off the puck and thermostat and there it was, sitting there like "is this a good time to discuss your truck's extended warranty?"

I'm gonna leave it as-is, hoping to upgrade the trans in a few months anyways.

Manufacturers leave extra parts in new cars all the time! I mean, why else would I have a bucket of left over parts every time I work on my truck? :anonymous:

I finished up the interchiller installation and got my AC system back together...but I'm not happy with that sharp 90 in the soft line, so I ordered a hard 90 fitting and another braze-on connection so there won't be any restriction.

I'm still trying to figure out how that happened, unless the check ball body fell out and is floating around in the pan as well...the spring is supposed to be on top of the body. Tomorrow I'm going to drain and fill, I'll drop the pan when I do so I can verify.

Im jealous, looking forward to hearing about your chilly IATs. So badass!

In other news my leaky exhaust sound I had was not a bad manifold or gasket against the block. Just a failed gasket on the manifold to the midpipe. Glad that was an easy fix. No more ticking or having to spend big bucks on new headers. Phew!

The only other spring would be from the tcc relay valve lockup. But you'd be having some major issues if it were out of the valve body. And it's not that long.

Nice. What I'm looking for but not a kit and just a little over budget at the moment...

Stickers?!? Darn it man, you HAD to throw in some stickers! :bananadead:

Let me see what I can squeeze out of the couch cushions - the kids may have left some interesting prizes in there. I'm sure there's some "vintage" popcorn I can throw in..
