Unless it came in the kit i did not. Only thing added is an Evil catch can. Running with whatever Magnuson provides for now. Start up should be around Sunday if all goes well!

At a minimum some will install an afr gauge to keep track of their fuel ratio to ensure they are not running lean. It's not required but a safety net to keep an eye on what is happening.

Question for those of you with the RCF throttle body and the Magnuson airbox. Will I be able to stretch the intake tube over the RCF throttle body or is there an adapter or tube that I should order in preparation for the install?

It's tight but will fit with a bit of stretching. Just rembering from past post on it.

Just saw this post, and thought it was worth sharing given the predominant topic as of late. Boost and warranty are on different spectrums. 500 miles on it! Clearly it had a defect out of the box, and no dice on warranty repair.

When I spoke with them he was pretty adamant on stating any alterations, pullies, shooting water methanol would void the warranty.

I'm not really caught up on the support side of the SC community, but in 500 mile no warranty situation above, is that another 8-10k? Or is it a discounted replacement cost since the additional peripherals are already done?

It depends, it's the very firm 1-2 shift that can make things uncomfortable in stop and go, lock it in 1st gear helps but doing 10mph while doing 3000rpm also sucks....

alright fellas, I need to swap injectors, I'm 100% these 750cc injectors are causing me all my headache, bought DW 650cc, question is, is this diy-able? I have a fear of injectors swap since many years ago when I was young, a mishap almost burnt my car down.

Hate to be that guy but if you modify something you run the risk of voiding the warranty. Not saying it should have failed, just that you pay to play.

Very DIY-able and very easy. The blower may make it more of a challenge depending on how much in encroaches on the fuel rail but otherwise its really simple. I was nervous also but it took maybe an hour to swap all 8. Easier than spark plugs.

They can be pricks if they want to be, that’s their right and they put it in writing. My point is I wouldn’t expect much out of them as far as warranty coverage. Easy fix, buy a Harrop or Whipple.

Are they five-o 750's? Easy swap just relieve all the pressure. Pull fuel pump fuse and start up to run out and careful when separating fuel line. Ensure o-rings and spacers are seated.

I've been leaning towards Harrop if I go bigger. And I only go to 6400rpm.

I went from the TVS1900 to the TVS 2650, it was ~$5-6k. Some items are reused, some of those modified, and some are new. For example, the top radiator hose is retained, some of the intercooler hoses are reused, but some are unique and were supplied in the upgrade kit.

DIY for sure, blow out the area with compressed air before removing as there is always dirt/debris in there, and get your tune adjusted.

That's some gnarly damage, hopefully the damage was limited to the supercharger.

Dang, that's crazy. Wonder if the failure was purely because of his mods or if the unit was defective from the get go and his mods just made it fail way, way earlier. Maybe without the mods it would have lasted longer but eventually still failed within the warranty period.

Or a turbo. They’ll even sell you the parts to up the boost from the cab!

Selfish jab I know but I couldn’t resist.

My understanding of TVS superchargers are the bearings are made to last indefinitely at 18,000 RPM (literally never fail) and sure there are cases where they still do. People run them at 24,000 RPM all the time with no issues. He surely wasn’t spinning it that fast on what he describes as a “moderate pulley combo”. The snout bearing retainer appears to have failed, which would cause catastrophic failure at any RPM. Looks to me like a faulty unit that they conveniently decided not to help him out with.

You can wait 2-4 weeks for warranty supercharger repair, or 2-4 weeks for your turbo boost to come on. You decide!

Just joshin.:p At least Jesse would help you out, warranty or not it seems.

So, water methanol voiding the warranty I can understand.

Swapping pulleys that keep the blower speed below that 18k rpm threshold - I don’t really understand that voiding the warranty. I would think that as long as the unit design limits aren’t breached, there should be zero issues with it.

When I reached out to Harrop, they basically told me swapping pulleys was fine for the blower, but might not be good for the motor…

For those of us that live at altitude other than sea level, a smaller pulley is a necessity just to get stock blower power levels.
