Color Matched Bumper Covers

Very happy with the black TPO..
Much cheaper than MGM acrylic or painted.
Showed the wife some pics and she liked the black better.
She is the queen of matching and design..

 

I just recently purchased an 2021 Army Green Trail Edition. What bumper cap color from BumperShellz matches the factory black center section of the bumper? On a certain website, there’s like 5-7 options that may or may not match, I have no idea. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Trying to get the entire bumper to look uniform in that black plastic. Thanks!

 

I can't make any promises, but our textured TPO option looks VERY similar to the center valance in the front and rear. Here's a photo of a truck we installed the TPO on



Obviously that center valance needs a little TLC, but they look pretty similar. Like I said, it's not perfect, but the Matte Black would way off.

Now, do I go with the end caps to match that center piece, or go with the army green end caps?? Decisions, decisions!! Good problem to have.

That's a tough decision... My favorite color is green and I LOVE the army green toyota makes... so that would be MY choice. I also love how color matching looks.

It can be difficult, but that's why we require that you do a dry fit before you install. If you aren't satisfied, we will respray it! Make sure you read our Painted Parts Policy. We really just want you to have the best looking truck!

 

Is it true that Toyota does not produce painted bumper covers? Did they before and discontinue? I just ordered the bulge and grille in army green but what are my options for the bumper covers?

Toyota never made "bumper covers". They have metal chrome bumper caps or a painted plastic cap. But the plastic cap replaces the metal and requires different mounting brackets. It is not a "cover".

Since they are now producing a different version of the Tundra than what you have, they stopped stocking colored versions of our parts. Most authorized dealers will gladly send the part out for paint but their costs are pretty crazy. I'd recommend just finding the part you want and having it painted locally.

 

Thanks for the info! I was pretty certain that oem never made shells/covers but rather painted caps. Interesting that it required a special mounting bracket. I would’ve figured the cap would be no different than chrome besides being painted.

Anyone try the front covers with the bed liner option? I’d love to see it. Figure it looks similar to the TPO. I worry about it being thicker and the sensor not fitting in correctly. Any input @EC1?

 

How thick are the front bumper cap shellz? Will it protrude beyond the stock center valence or is it flush enough? I really don’t like the idea of a cover because I like to stick with oem parts on my truck but I don’t have many options. I might just live with the chrome since it atleast matches my trd offroad oem wheels.

I was on the fence with the Bumpershellz for a couple of years.
I had the same concerns you do, but $1000+ for painted ends and hardware was ridiculous.

After asking the wife if she liked the color matched or black, she liked the black better.
That saved me even more money.
Very happy with them..
